Vash and I settled into the Room, transitioning our focus from History of Magic to delving into more advanced spells.
"Let's switch things up, Vash. How about we start with the Banishing Charm, also known as 'Depulso'? It's used to send objects away from you."
Vash nodded eagerly, his wand poised. "Depulso!" he declared, and a nearby pillow shot off the table and landed on the couch.
"Great job!" I praised. "Now, let's move on to the Shield Charm, 'Protego.' It creates a protective barrier to block spells and objects."
I demonstrated the wand movement and the incantation, and Vash followed suit. A shimmering shield formed in front of him, and he looked pleased with his progress.
"Next, we have the Freezing Charm, 'Immobulus.' It temporarily immobilizes a target."
Vash listened attentively as I explained the spell's mechanics. He aimed his wand and confidently cast the charm, freezing a small figurine in place.
"Now, let's explore the Confundus Charm, 'Confundo.' It causes confusion and can be used to make someone disoriented."
After I demonstrated the spell's effects, Vash tried it on a toy spider, making it wobble as if dizzy.
"Excellent! Moving on to the Fire-Making Charm, 'Incendio.' It conjures flames for various purposes."
Vash concentrated, casting the spell, and a controlled burst of flames appeared at the tip of his wand. He carefully extinguished it with another swish of his wand.
"Let's try the Bubble-Head Charm, 'Aquamemto.' It creates an air bubble around your head, allowing you to breathe underwater."
I explained the wand movement, and Vash successfully cast the spell. He grinned as an invisible bubble formed around his head.
"Fantastic work, Vash! You're picking up these spells quickly," I commended. "Practice will refine your skills even further."
Vash's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Thank you for teaching me, Josephine. It's like a whole new world of magic has opened up."
"It's my pleasure," I replied. "Remember, each spell has its unique uses and potential. Keep practicing and experimenting."
As we continued our study session, Vash's confidence grew, and the Room was filled with the echoes of incantations and magical effects. With each successful spell, Vash's magical prowess expanded, and I felt a sense of pride in being able to guide him on this enchanting journey.
At that moment, sounds of approaching footsteps signaled the entrance of Sebastian and Ominis from the opposite side of the Room. Vash and I made our way through the hallway to welcome them, their hands burdened with plates heaped with a delightful assortment of food. Time had whisked by, and it was already dinnertime.
"We grabbed you both some grub," Sebastian announced with a grin.
"We figured you might be famished after your study session," Ominis chimed in.
Seated around the table, I found my spot next to Sebastian, and he presented me with a plate adorned with all my favorite dishes. I shot him a playful glance, noticing his sly expression as he watched me.
As we indulged in the meal, Ominis broke the tranquil hush that had settled over us. "So, how productive was your day of learning?"
Vash, having finished a mouthful, responded enthusiastically, "Incredibly productive! Josephine and I tackled Binns' classwork, and she also gave me insights into some more advanced spells." He wiped his lips and continued, "I have a feeling this year is going to be different for me, like it's finally my time to shine."
