(A/N: ⚠️tw: self harm⚠️ )
Devin's POV:
"Hey, could I sit here?" The blonde boy said to me. I was almost too focused on his features to recognize what he had asked me. "Sure." I responded. My mom used to always say 'sure' to everything, that's one of the reasons everyone loved her, she never was a selfish person. "I'm Oliver by the way" the blonde said to me before I snapped out of my thoughts. "Nice to meet you Oliver, I'm Devin." I responded with a fake smile. But it was nice to finally put a name to everyone's famous blonde 'Prince'."Class today I will be giving you a project that you will have one week to complete. You will be partnering up to write a three page essay on 'How Could We Possibly End World Hunger'. Devin since you're next to the Prince you too could partner up" Mr. Mitchell stated. Me and Oliver looked at each other at the same time and we both quickly looked away. "The rest of you can pick a partner of your choice" Mr Mitchell finished. "So I guess we could go over my house after school today to work on it if you want" Oliver said. "Yeah, that's fine." I said. CLANK! CLANK! CLANK! CLANK! By the clanking of those heels I just knew who was in front of me. "Hi Prince" Jessica said in a flirtatious tone. "Hey, uhmm" The prince said. "Jessica! I'm Jessica Glass. I'm the most prettiest and popular person at the school." Jessica said with cockiness. "Cool to know" Oliver said smiling. "Anyways I came over to ask could I work with you on the essay" Jessica said. "Uh actually me and Devin was working together." Oliver said. "No worries! Dylan can work with us !" Jessica said. I just told this bitch my name earlier. "Actually, it's Devin." Oliver said. "Right! You know what I mean." Jessica said. "Well I guess it's fine, we're meeting at my place after school, you could tag along." Oliver said. "Okay Thank you" Jessica said with a flirtatious smile that almost made ME fall for her and I'm gay and can't stand her. Jessica walked away. This is gonna be fun 🙂.
"Hi, I hope it's ok I told Jessica she could come, I noticed you looked a little annoyed" Oliver said. "Yes! Mhm. It's fine!" I said. When class was over Mr. Mitchell asked to see me. "Devin! Before you go we need to discuss your grades." Mr. Mitchell said. I walked over to him. "Now Devin, you've always made straight A's in my class so I can't help but to notice how far your grades have slipped." He said. "I know Mr. Mitchell, it's just I have a lot on me right now" I said. "I know that your mom passed, she was a great women. But that still isn't a excuse. Your education matters." Mr. Mitchell said. I walked out because I started feeling myself tearing up. Those thoughts came back. The ones that told me 'you're a failure' and 'you're a loser'. I walked into the bathroom with tears down my eyes. I pulled out the razor blade I had snuck in and held up my wrist. I cut. With every cut I winced in pain. I eventually stopped and decided to skip school for the rest of the day.
