Meteors showered the streets, blasting from the massive mutated beast that loomed in the distance, tearing through the city in a berserk rampage.

DJ jolted up from his bench, stretching as fast as possible before assuming a battle stance, bouncing on his toes to stir energy and fighting spirit within himself.

"Ready, Érica?" DJ called over his shoulder. She groaned as she finally lifted herself from the bench she was lying on. Her red hair was beyond messy, partially covering both her eyes and she still had quite a few cuts, having frustratingly refused DJ's help to tend to them.

She shot him a glare as a response, muttering something under her breath.

"Okay-" he disregarded aloud, "Are you ready, though? We need to take down that huge monster, but I can't help you unless you help me heal my stamina-"

Érica grabbed her necklace and a blinding orange flame covered her whole body. DJ jumped back in surprise, caught off-guard. When it vanished she called out 'New Sunrise' and stretched out her hand in his direction. In moments, DJ's energy had returned to him.

"Well, that was easier than I thought!"

Sun Stone stared at the rocky giant in the distance. Despite needing the sun for her powers, its rays still nearly blinded her through her helmet as she tried to analyze how to handle the path of destruction caused by the creature.

"Shut up," she muttered. "Just don't get in my way."
"But I thought we were working together now?"

Sun Stone joined her hands by her helmet, clearly annoyed, "We were literally just fighting, what in any of that makes you think we were a team?"

DJ rubbed his hand across his chin, confused. "But we talked it out after, we shared our names, I helped you out of the rubble, and you even healed me just now! That sounds like the start of a team to me."
"I just try not to let people die.. unlike some others," she mumbled that last part, he pretended not to hear what she said. Questioning her further would probably make her more frustrated.
"Right," DJ jumped back into an energetic fighting stance. "You do your thing and I'll do mine, as long as we take that thing down, we'll be just fine." He stopped for a moment and chuckled to himself, "Why did that rhyme? Hey, I did it again!"

Sun Stone shook her head and dashed off, DJ following suit by zipping through the air.

The beast's roar echoed through the skies as it tore down everything around it, whatever form of "life" there was on the streets had long vanished, crushed under the wrath of the rocky giant. DJ needed to intervene to ensure the destruction didn't continue to what remained of the city and he needed to do it now. He zipped across the streets like a lightning bolt, trying his best to gain its attention.

"HEY BIG GUY! OVER HERE!"

While DJ glowed brilliantly like a lightning bug, his fighting style resembled more that of a pesky fly, impossible to catch but still too frail to leave a lasting impact, with multiple kicks equivalent to quick bites. A simple slap from the monster was enough to send him rocketing into a nearby wall.

But he didn't give up.

DJ got up time and time again, engulfing the beast in lightning only for its body to petrify and swell beneath a layer of rock, going for another punch to take him down once more. But he never stayed down, which felt much too familiar for Sun Stone..

She shook her head. She couldn't keep comparing them.. for her own sake.

She needed a plan.

Sun Stone observed the fight: DJ- Blue- Whoever- kept at it, insisting on the same tactics he'd used on her – direct strikes, laser blasts, clones.. nothing seemed to work, and she knew exactly why.
