Mikah woke up the next morning disoriented as he tossed in his bed. He didn't remember driving back to the hotel or where his phone was. Elizabeth was already up and ready for the day, a coffee cup in her hand as she stood at Mikah's bedside with a bottle of Aleve. "Here, take this." she offered. Mikah wiped his eyes and sat up, "Where's my phone?" he asked. She sighed, "It's charging. Now take this and get in the shower. We have to meet your sister for lunch in an hour." she said. Mikah swallowed the pill and flung the sheet off of his half naked body, "What do you mean?" he asked.
Elizabeth chuckled, "She called and asked if we could meet her for lunch and I said yes. I mean, after last night, I'm sure you don't care." she said. He took another sip of his coffee and sighed, "What do you mean after last night?" he asked. She sat down and cleared her throat, "Do you remember how you got back?" she asked. He looked at her and raised an eyebrow, "No." he said. She smirked and looked over at the bathroom as the door opened, Adrian walking out with no shirt on, revealing his chiseled abs, "Morning." he said.
Mikah looked at him and wiped his face once more, afraid he was dreaming, "A-Adrian. Wh-what are you-" he stammered. Adrian chuckled, "Don't worry. You passed out at Celsius and your sister and I thought it best if we brought you back. Except, she was crazy wasted and I sobered up to bring you home." he said. Mikah stood up and walked over to his suitcase, fumbling through it to get some clothes, "Thank you." he said. Adrian smiled, "Don't mention it." he said.
Elizabeth gazed at Adrian, "Well, you need to get in the shower." she requested. Mikah took a big drink of his coffee and stepped around Adrian as he disappeared into the bathroom. Adrian watched him over his shoulder before he closed the door, looking back to Elizabeth before pulling a shirt over his shoulders.
He sat on Mikah's bed and Elizabeth smiled before walking over to the table in the corner of the room, crossing her legs as she gazed after him. His long legs crossed, his grimace focused as he scrolled on his phone. She cleared her throat, "Ahem, so." she said. He looked up and smiled, "Hi." he said. She stood up and walked over to her bed, "How long have you and Vivienne known each other?" she asked. He sat his phone down on his lap, "Oh, um, well we met about nine months or so ago in the city." he said. Elizabeth smiled and slowly nodded her head, "Where do you work?" she asked. He smiled, "I work for H & M. I'm a marketing director for their sales department." he said. "How do you like it?" she asked. He looked at her and narrowed his eyes at her, "It's good. I get to work with a lot of fun people and it has good benefits. How about you?" he asked. She looked at him, "Huh?" she asked. He chuckled and swiveled himself so he was facing her, "I mean, how is it working for Baby Boy in there?" he asked. She raised her eyebrow, "Baby Boy?" she repeated. Adrian chuckled to himself, "Yeah, I'm dating his sister, so he's the baby. Not to mention he doesn't look much older than 20." he explained.
Elizabeth laughed, "Oh, right." she said. Adrian cleared his throat, "I'm sorry, but did I do something?" he asked. "No, why?" she asked. He sat up, "Well, you're coming at me like I did something wrong. Almost like you don't like me." he said. She inhaled, "I'm sorry, Adrian. I didn't mean to come off like that. It's just, I'm very protective of Mikah and you're just a new person is all. We barely know you." she explained. Adrian nodded his head, "Listen, I know he probably told you about him and Viv's relationship and I just wanna clarify that I don't know what happened between them. So any hard feelings for her shouldn't be rubbed off on me." he said.
"You're totally right and I'm sorry if that's how it's coming off." she apologized. Adrian smiled, "Good." he said. He sat back and stared at himself in the mirror, "Can I ask you something totally weird and perhaps inappropriate?" he asked while examining himself in the mirror. Elizabeth was caught off guard and hesitant, but still answered, "Um, sure." she said. He looked at her, "Have you ever caught yourself questioning your own integrity? Like, realizing things about yourself that you never quite understood or thought about?" he asked. She cocked her head to the side, "How do you mean?" she asked.
