The way his chest rose and fell in sleep was mesmerizing. The scene playing out in front of him felt like a fever dream.
He wanted to lean down and press hungry lips to George's soft skin, but he didn't dare. They had yet to cross that threshold, despite sharing a bed for several nights.
Dream's lips continued to burn with longing and while he knew better than to continue entertaining these thoughts, he couldn't tear his gaze away from the brunette resting peacefully beside him.
Angelic features twinged with stirring motions of waking and George's eyes fluttered open lazily.
This was their life; rising to a mid day sun after an evening of gaming and streaming late into the night.
And somehow their nightly routines had merged together. Despite both valuing their alone time, they failed to end their orbit.
George turned his head and offered a familiar grin. "What?"
"Nothing," Dream said as he burrowed his head further into his pillow, for fear he'd leap to the other in an ill thought out plan to attack him with kisses..
"You're staring."
"I know." Dream let out a heavy exhale. He didn't mean for his voice to sound so raspy, so needy as he said, "you're in my bed."
But it had a visible effect on the other in the way it made him turn to his side and grip his pillow in a way Dream wished that pillow were him.
"I know," said the other, softly.
An unspoken question buoyed between them.
What does it all mean?
George bit his bottom lip, perfect and pink and-
Dream cut off his dangerous thoughts. No good could come of this. Perhaps he should tell George tonight is the last night they'd share a bed. Yet the very idea of it sent his head and heart spiralling.
"I like your bed." George's comment propelled Dream to the present.
"It can be your bed too." Dream would offer George anything and everything he asked for.
"Yeah?" His mouth quirked up in a half smile. Was it gratitude or realisation dawning that it was an invitation to never leave?
George moved his body half an inch closer. "And where will you sleep?"
Dream replied with an ear to ear grin. "Here, of course." It was his turn to inch closer.
Their knees brushed and wow, was this what heaven felt like?
"I suppose we could share."
Geeoge was rarely the forward one, at least with words. It didn't matter. The warmth radiating from him and his smile was enough.
"Yeah?"
George shrugged, then rolled his eyes.
Dream took this as his opportunity to close the gap between them. To ring the dinner bell and call George home, officially claiming him.
With a shaky hand he ran his fingers through the other's hair, then cupped his cheek.
A light pink dusted George's cheeks but he only bit his bottom lip in anticipation. Dream lowered his face down and pressed a tentative kiss to the other's lips. It was a warm swell after a chill. A homecoming after being away for so long. The musical chirping of a songbird.
What started as shy, reserved kisses bollosomed to greedy and passionate. The two pressed their bodies together, Dream slightly leaning against the other but it was welcomed. He could tell in the way George tugged on Dream's hip that he wanted to position himself under the gentle giant even further.
He obeyed and readily braced his full frame over the smaller one. This unleashed a powerful wave of desire and it showed in how the kisses began to leave them breathless.
George ran fingers through his curls and Dream moved down his neck to his collarbone and freely kissed as long and hard as he could before he was redirected to George's lips once more.
The fire would continue to burn brighter, if only there hadn't been an unexpected pounding on the door.
Sapnap normally avoided waking Dream. Yet, here he was calling through the door. "Hey! Is George in there?"
Immediately Dream rolled off George and tried to act casual. George was flustered but sat up and tried to fix his hair.
"Shit!"
"What?!" Panic licked George's eyes.
A bright red bruise laid openly on display on his collarbone due to a mussed up shirt.
Dream reached across and adjusted it as best as he could.
"Hello??" Sapnap was the most impatient of the three.
"Come in, idiot," George said.
There was no hesitation. Sapnap gave them each an inquisitive glance. "Why y'all acting sus?"
"We're not!" Dream's voice cracked and that did not help their case.
"Whatever. You guys can be gay for each other, it'll only help our brand."
"Shut up!" George sat up straighter. "What do you want?"
Sapnap sat on the bed and started chatting with George while Dream laid back and watched the sun dance along the wall, reminding him it would eventually set and he would have George to himself tonight. And he was ready to make up for their stolen time that morning.
