One minute we were talking about school. The next about summer. Then we saw the lights. Wait. We're they there before? I swear that we were the only ones on the road. This road never gets traveled on.
The next thing I knew, we were rocking and rolling across the empty field, all the while glass was flying in the air, sparkling like glitter. Items cascaded from above and below, twisting and turning while they were hitting each other.
You would have expected it to have been the loudest sound anyone could have ever heard. But I never heard a single thing.
What seemed like days was in actuality only 5 whole seconds. I tried looking at my friend but I was being thrown around too much. Was she screaming? Was she trying to speak? I don't know what was happening at this point.
Finally, the car stopped rolling and settled upside down. I looked at my friend. Her hair was falling down ad I noticed that it seemed to be shining. Yellow? Green? Blue? Red. The color of fire trucks. Ladybugs. Blood. It was starting to bead in her beautiful, flowing hair.
She turned her head to look at me and I saw her lips move. What was she saying? I couldn't hear her. Why couldn't I hear her?
