After the usual fifteen minute ride, the bus pulled to a stop in front of the school. As Michael exited the bus he looked up at the school sign. In bright green and yellow letters the words 'Richmond High School' stood out on the top of the building for all the new and returning students to see. As he walked to the main door of the building, Michael saw many familiar faces from the past year. He knew all of them would remember him too, but for different reasons than he wanted. Due to getting very small amounts of sleep, he was always tired and look like crap. That along with the fact that strange things always seemed to happen around him, people assumed that he was a freak. And he would agree with them on that assumption, because although being able to change reality with his mind was fun and useful, it caused him a lot of trouble. Like the time last year when the school bully, Stephen, was messing with Josh. Michael walked by Stephen and quickly grabbed the bully's shirt, which then turned hot pink. Even though it caused Stephen a lot of embarrassment, it caused Michael a black eye and a trip to the office.

Michael walked in through the front doors and looked around at the many familiar sights. He continued walking down the halls until he found the room that he was looking for. On a small plastic sign outside it said 'Rooms 112- Mr. Calvin.' Michael walked into the room and greeted the teacher before he walked over to a desk near the back and sat down. He sighed as he looked around at all the other students that came through the door. After a few moments Josh walked in and looked around until he saw Michael in the back.

Josh walked over and sat down next to Michael, "Hey man, so is this where we'll be all year?"

"Huh?" Michael looked over from staring into space, "What was that?"

Josh laughed a little, "Back to your old self already? Well this'll be another fun filled year," Josh smiled as they both looked at each other before busting out into laughing.

"Everyone take your seats please," the teacher requested as everyone started to sit down. He went on to explain the rules and class schedule of the year. Michael, as usual, tuned the teacher out and stared out the window to the forest on the other side of the track field. He knew that this year would be just as bad as last year. He knew he would get into trouble a lot, he would scrape by with schoolwork, and he still wouldn't get the cute girl he always liked. He looked over at her, Mary, the cute, smart, popular girl in his class. Michael sighed knowing that she wouldn't even give him the time of day since she, just like everyone else, thought he was a weirdo and a freak. He looked back out the window and look along the forest edge seeing if there was anything to entertain him for the next hour. As his survey of the treeline ended with nothing to bear, he sighed and laid his head down on the desk and closed his eyes. Michael knew that he would fall asleep quickly and he would probably get in trouble but he didn't care. As sleep started to take over his body one thought popped into his mind, what was that nightmare from last night about?
