It all started with a stupid literature class...

"Mari you really need to get a boyfriend girl!" That's Alya, we've been best friends for so many years I lost count. She has gorgeous auburn, wavy hair, amber fox eyes which pierce through you and lastly, she has a great figure. She's curvy but also athletic so It's easy to say she's the hottest girl in school.

"I don't know Alya.. I think I'd rather focus on studies than boys." Tomorrow is our first day of Senior year so me and Alya are having a sleepover.

Unlike Alya, I don't have a new boyfriend each week. I'm still a virgin, and haven't even had my first kiss. Alya says it's become i'm 'waiting for my prince charming'. I've always pictured my boyfriend and future husband to be perfect, he'd come and sweep me off my feet and we'd live happily ever after. Obviously that hasn't happened. Alya always says I'm hot and I can get any boy in Paris and even if that is true, I'm not interested.

"C'mon girl, It's our last year. Loosen up a bit, have some fun," Alya nudges my should," Besides, you've been the top of our year for the past 3 years, I'm sure you'll do fine in your studies." She isn't wrong there but I can't have any distractions. I already have my whole life planned out and if I ruin it just because of some silly boy, well, I would never forgive myself.

"Alya, we have school tomorrow, we should go to bed." I look over to check my alarm clock, it reads '10:42 PM'.

Alya let's out a disappointed sigh, "Whatever, I'll change you, just wait and see." She turns around, turning my little lamp off before climbing under the sheets and going to bed.

I sit there, gazing up at my ceiling. Is Alya right? Maybe I should loosen up a bit this year. It is Seniors after all and I haven't even had my first kiss. Maybe Alya is right... Slowly, I drift off to sleep.

"Girl wait up, we're gonna be late on our first day!" I wake up to find Alya violently shaking me by the legs. I turn to look at my clock, '7:32 AM'.

"Alya what are you on about? School doesn't start till 9, we have plenty of time." Annoyed, I place one arm over my eyes, covering the bright sunlight seeping through my blinds.

"I know, but we need to get ready. It's our first day we-" Before she can say anymore I cut her off.

"Make an impression, I know. You've told me enough times." Still half-asleep I climb my way out of bed. My room is fairly big. I have a queen sized bed and my room is mainly white, decorated with pictures of my family and friends all around my walls.

"Good. Luckily for you, I packed my makeup before coming here." She lifts up a small bag, bursting with makeup. She shakes it in front of my face with an excited smile. Sometimes I wonder how we're friends. She's an extroverted hot girl who loves makeup, dresses, parties and most of all, boys. Whilst me, I'm an introverted, 'nerd', I don't like dressed or parties, and I'm just not interested in boys.

"How fun." I roll my eyes as I clamber my way out of bed Alya grabs my wrist and pulls me into the bathroom.

"Girl just trust me, I brung you a spare dress. I've already looked in your closet and you really need an upgrade, we should go shopping this weekend." Alya suggests as she starts laying all her makeup out on the counter.

"You know how much I hate shopping." I roll my eyes as she begins to apply some skin-coloured cream onto my face. My skin is very pale so Alya tries to improvise and match my tone. She gently applies blush and mascara to my eyes.

"Voila!" She grabs my shoulders and turns me to the mirror. I can't help but stare at myself in the mirror. My skin looks... flawless. My acne, gone. Any freckles or blemishes, gone. Even my eyelashes are long, thick and curled. My lips are glossed with a natural red tint. Jeez this woman can work magic.
