Chapter 9: Mike's POV

Mike after hearing his wife traumatic past,
Mike goes off grid as he is in denial about everything.

Thomas tried to contact him but his efforts were in vain,
Mike thought long and hard about Renée's emotional pain.

Coming off a hill in the outskirts of Lakeshore,
Mike walked back to his vehicle as he thinks about Renée's scar
But was met with one of the little orphans just about to spray paint his car.

The little orphan ran but this time Mike decided there was no need to for a chase,
The presence of these orphans had a meaning to his case.
He took out a sandwich and offer it to the child,
And to his surprise, they all came out of the bushes where they've been hiding for awhile.

The little child approached him as he offer him the sandwich -

"Tommy no!!"
Another child called out

The orphan stepped back with respect to his eldest response.

"No, no it's okay!!"
Mike reassured

"Don't take it tommy!!
He's the Boogeyman that was standing over Kevin. He took him away from us!!
He'll take you too!"
The eldest replied

"Are you talking about the child that was hit by the car?
No went there to help him, I'm a police officer."
Mike replied

"You're lying, we arrived and you were over him, we all saw when you let that noisy carriage take him away."

"No, listen my name is Michael, I'm a police officer, the noisy carriage took your friend to the hospital.-

"The place that makes him better?"
The little orphan asked

"Yes, the place that makes you better."
Mike replied

"Then why were you chasing us?"
The eldest asked

"I just wanted to ask you some questions about your friend.
It's okay you don't have to be scared."

"If you're a police officer do the screaming noise!!"
The eldest shouted

"The screaming noise?"
Mike asked

"Everyone knows that a police car makes the screaming noise."

"Oh, you mean the siren."
Mike replied

"Screaming noise."
The eldest uttered

"It's actually called a siren."
Mike added

"Screaming noise."
They all shouted

"Okay fine, I'll play the screaming noise."
Mike replied as he turns on the siren

"Woah!!
They shouted in awe
Seeing the seeing the flashing lights

"Here you go."
Mike stated as he hands the sandwich to the little orphan
