It's been weeks since I break up with Sam, Pushing aside my homework, I get up from bed to shake off the nightmare.
When my feet hit the floor, I put a hand to my head with a pained gasp. At my dresser, I find the bottle for the ibuprofen empty.
I called out "Bobby, I'm going to the store. Bobby, did you hear me?" to myself "Of course, you didn't. You would have heard me screaming like a lunatic"
Grabbing a jacket, I pause to notice the full moon outside the window. With a sigh, I shake my head at myself "Lunatic"

The door to my car clicks open. I step out with my eyes on my phone as I thumb a text message, walking briskly across the empty parking lot. But I stop short.
Slowly peering up, I find I'm not at the store, but at the Mystic Falls public pool. Glancing about in confusion, my breath tightens noticeably.
And then I spot an object in the darkened pool. Something was floating there.
Inching forward, I try to make out what it is. With each step, it becomes clearer... A body floating in the water.
I whisper "Oh God..." I start toward it, but then indecision halts me.
I look back to my car. Then to the body in the pool.
Finally, I approach the pool, moving down the side by the lifeguard chair where I kneel at the edge.
"Oh my God, are you dead? Please don't be dead" Reaching for the body, managing to grab hold of the leg, pulling it toward the moonlight to reveal, It's a CPR mannequin "Are you kidding me?" With an irritated breath, I sit up, wiping my wet hands against each other "Lydia, what the hell are you doing..."
I pause, peering down at my wet hands. Wet with blood. Gazing at a widening puddle of dark blood around my feet, I follow the trail, slowly turning my head to look up.
Perched in the lifeguard chair is the body of an eighteen-year-old boy, wet blood still flowing down his clothes from a horribly slashed throat.
As the CPR mannequin drifts silently back into the water, I terrified scream fills the moonlit night.

Stiles's Jeep flies into the lot pulling in next to my car. He slams on the brakes and jumps out "Lydia? Lydia!" Past the fence, he finds me hugging myself in the cold.
I turn to him "I'm okay. That. That over there. Not okay."
Stiles spots the dark figure perched in the lifeguard chair and reaches for his phone "I'm calling my Dad"
"I already called 9-1-1"
"You called the police before you called me?"
"I'm supposed to call you first when I find a dead body?"
