A Father's Last Breath.

I miss you so much, I wish you were here...

A year has gone by yet it feels so much more.

As storm clouds absorb every single warm tear,

'fore letting them drop to the sea and the shore.

I wonder if words that we share in my sleep,

fall softly and land on the heart that I love?

Those moments where dreams are my fortress and keep,

that downy, soft feather - the most peaceful dove.

The cloud that gives way to the winds that I ride,

the heavens explored in one short, longing breath,

and as I breathe out, all my feelings inside,

explode from their prison, their home since your death.

Oh if for one moment, once more I could see,

your sparkling green eyes and that smile I adore,

If for just a moment, you sat here with me,

and told me how much you have loved me once more.

I miss you so much, how my heart aches and bleeds,

a river of blood where the delta meets you,

Oh how I neglect all my most basic needs,

and how it's so hard, for each day to get through.

Forever I'll hold you so close in my dreams,

where always you'll turn to me, smile and say,

"I'll be right beside you, our love flows in streams,

right beside you just like I was on your first day".

I miss you so much, I wish you were here...

A year has gone by yet it feels so much more.

As storm clouds absorb every single warm tear,

'fore letting them drop to the sea and the shore.
