Chapter 2

Skyler's P.O.V. ________________
As I was getting out of my car When looked over my shoulder and saw him walking towards me. I didn't know what to do so I just turned back facing my car and froze until I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Umm.... hi I'm Kian your new neighbor," he said introducing himself.
"H-hi I'm....... ummm....... sky......ler," I said trying to hide my shyness but didn't work. i looked over at him and he had a confused look on his face.
"Skyler," i said once more so he could understand.
"Oh nice to meet you. hey i was wondering is there any ice cream place around here?"
" Ya there's 'scoop and go' right down the street," I replied
"Cool, so now that I know that there is an ice cream store would you like to join me?" Kian asked.
In my head i was wondering if he was asking me out on a date but i wasn't sure. Just to see if it was a date, I told him the truth.
"Im so sorry i really wish i could, but right now I'm needed at home. maybe some other time?" I replied kinda scared of his response.
"Um thats ok how about tomorrow?"
This was going to be a date wow i always get the good ones first.
"Ya sounds great"
"Ill pick you up at umm.. 5:00?" He said but more came out in a question.
"Sure thing!" I kinda jumped back.
After our little talk i went inside to my mom and told her every thing that just happened.
"Wow" was all she said before she told me why i needed to come home.
"Hun... this is really hard to say" she paused. and i knew where she was going, but before she could start again i felt someone pick me up. of course i screamed. i looked to see who it was and It was my dad.
"DADDY!!" I screamed so loud that kian could probably hear me.
" Hey my sweet angle." my father said back.
My dad has been in Afghanistan for almost a year. i don't get to see him much, but i do write letters.
" What are you doing back i thought you wert coming back until September and its May?" I questioned
"Well they sent me home early." was his reply
After we had our moment we all decided to go watch a movie. I'm usually the one to pick the movie, but i let my dad pick it sen e it was his first night home in a long time and of course he picked 'Fast & Furious 6' oh how i love this movie. In the middle of the movie i fell asleep.

* next morning*
I woke up. wait. my mom didn't wake me up somethings wrong here. i thought to my self while i went to grab my phone to see the time. As i unlocked the screen i read that it was 5:30 in the morning. WHAT!! Why am i up so early. there was no need to go back to sleep because i couldn't. i got out of bed and went straight to my closet to find my outfit of the day. i chose to wear my black shorts with a hot pink sleeveless shirt that says ' I like to party' and then my white laceless vans. After i chose my out fit I went into my bathroom and did my thing. I came out , got dressed and then grabbed my backpack and walked down stairs. my mom was very suppressed to see me up this early. i just smiled and grabbed food. This time eating cereal and orange juice. by the time i was done it was 6:45 and school started at 7:35. I said my goodbyes to my mom and headed for my car.
"Skyler." i heard my name being called and i knew exactly who it was.
"Oh hey Kian. whats up"
" Umm could i follow you to school because i don't know the way?" Kian asked
"Ya sure," is what i replied with
On my way to school i lessoned to music and my song came on so i decided to roll down my windows and jam.
"Like a small boat
On the ocean

Like how a single word

I might only have one match
But I can make an explosion

And all those things I didn't say

It was good timing because the song ended right when i pulled into my parking spot
