A/N: just saying, all the things in this book were randomized, so her pet and wand were completely random. Although I was hoping for the pet she got.

Also, I'm SUPER bad at dates, so, if I get a LOT of dates wrong, hopefully 🤞 my sister and editor maybe they can help!?

This is being posted a day early, 'cause why not?

———

As soon as I stepped out of the fireplace in The Leaky Cauldron I saw him. It was the Harry Potter.

"Dad," I whispered. "Look, it's Harry Potter!" I was so excited!

He was shaking people's hands, I heard Dorris Croferd introduce himself in front of me then it was my turn.

"Reyna Lupin," I said happily. "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too," he replied as I walked over to my father and headed out to meet with my friends.

"Boo!" A playful voice came from behind a couple of minutes after my encounter with Harry Potter. "Hey, Reyna!"

"Hi Lyla," I murmured distractedly.

"Are you not happy to see me?" She asked sadly

"I am. It's just that I shook hands with Harry Potter only a minute ago."

"The Harry Potter?!?" She practically screamed. "Shut up."

"Why would I lie?"

"What are you guys talking about?" Mark had come over when he heard Lyla scream. "What about Harry Potter?"

"She met him!" Lyla blurted out. "And shook hands with him!" Abby came over and had no idea what we were talking about because she was muggle-born.

"Who's Harry Potter ?" She asked, confused.

"The Boy Who Lived," Mark replied, very helpfully.

"Lived what?" She asked

"Oh my god!" Lyla screeched. "The killing curse! And-"

"Let's go get our books and stuff." I stopped Lyla before she could keep going, she could rant for hours about Harry Potter.

As they went to get their money, me and my father went to The Magical Menagerie and got me a pet.

As soon as I entered a fiery-looking bird caught my eye, I went to pet her. She was so soft and friendly, but also warm and kind of scary.

"A Phoenix," I whispered. "How beautiful."

"You should buy her," my father advised me. "People who can control them are very powerful and rare, only a few other people have them."

The shopkeeper agreed and told me that she was 20 galleons.

After I left, my friends caught up to me and saw my Phoenix.

"Is that a phoenix?" Asked Abby. "I thought they were mythical creatures."

"What are you? A muggle?" I joked.

"I'm a witch," she said triumphantly.

Lyla went quiet, which she only does when either something really bad is going to happen or when something exciting is going to happen.

"H," she said, I caught on quickly.

"A," I said.

"R?" Mark asked.

"R," Lyla confirmed.

"Y!" We finished in unison.

"Harry?" Abby asked. "The Harry Potter you guys were talking about earlier?"

"Keep your voice down," Lyla muttered.

We all walked in because I had forgotten to buy food for my Phoenix, and Abby wanted a cat.

"Nice to see you again Remus," came a voice near my father. A giant man was standing there.

"You too Hagrid," my father replied. I stopped listening to their conversation and helped Abby with finding the right cat.

Harry Potter was also there, looking for an owl. "Hello, Reyna. Fancy seeing you here. Oh, is that a Phoenix?"

"Yeah, her name's Ember." I say quickly, then "Maybe that one?" I saw a cute and fluffy rosette rag doll.

"Ah," the shopkeeper sighed. "She is a very nice cat, and can actually shut Crookshanks up."

"Crookshankes?" I asked.

"Nothing," the shopkeeper lied.

"I'll take her," Abby said. "How much?"

"14 galleons."

"Reyna, I don't have 14 galleons." She looked at me worriedly.

"I'll buy her for you," I offered

"No," she argued. "Don't spend your money on things that I want, spend it on things you want."

"No." I placed the gallions on the counter and before she could stop the shopkeeper Abby had the cage thrust into her hands. "Let's go to Ollivander's"

———

"How about this one," Ollivander said. "Pine, 12.5 inches, unicorn tail hair core, surprisingly swishy."

I waved the wand then a blast came out the end and made a hole in the window.

"Maybe not," he sighed. "Let's try this one, hawthorn, 13 inches, dragon heartstring core, unyielding."

This time when I waved the wand, I felt this tingly sensation, like when you're in front of a warm fire and you feel perfectly warm and safe.

"That's the one," Ollivander said. "A very nice wand indeed, I think you will do great things with that wand."

Abby got a holly, 15 inches, phoenix feather core, swishy.

We left Ollivander's and went to Madame Malkin's to get our robes.

E/N This chapter is blessed by me, the goddess of many things, including plot twists and cliffhangers. You're welcome, fair readers, for that.
