Winter break~ (2)

"Alright kids! Time to come in before you get to cold!" William yelled out to his three children, who were taking turns going down the slope in their back garden.

It was quite rare to see them all playing together especially with the recent amount of stress that his ex wife had given them. All William really cared about was the fact that they were all free of her alcohol abuse and that maybe one day Henry might move in to be an official father figure.

Henry already had a daughter, Charlie, but she only came around once or twice a week because of the divorce and when she did she loved playing with the Afton kids.

"Coming !" Elizabeth shouted to her father as she pushed the youngest, Evan, down the snowy slope. "Weeeeee!" Evan happily sung, reaching the bottom he ran back to his father inside with Elizabeth and Michael trailing after.

"You three come in quickly before the hot chocolates cool down." William shooed them inside with a huge smile, holding a mug of hot chocolate. " Thanks dad." Michael said while Henry given his a mug of warm hot chocolate with whipped cream and and some marshmallows.

" Be careful, it's still hot!" Henry said, trying to stop him from downing the whole thing in one. Michael gave a raised eyebrow "Isn't that why it's called a HOT chocolate?"

"Yes, but please, I don't want you hurting yourself.." Henry replied while giggling and leaning back against the living room sofa and taking another sip. He loved his hot chocolate; usually when William made it, it was filled with vanilla essence, it was a truly delicious drink for a freezing day like this. William sighed looking over at the time on the old antique clock hanging on the wall.

"Oh gosh is that the time already? Okay, you guys can finish these but you're going to have to pop to bed afterwards." All of the kids whined since they were having such a fun time playing outside and talking to each other.

"But dadddd" Elizabeth sat with a saddened face while trying to give puppy eyes.

" No buts missy. It's alright past your bedtime and we can't have you up all night. " Henry said agreeing with William as he scooped Evan up into his arms who was already falling asleep in Henry's warm arms. "And besides it seems like your brother got the message" He said while smiling at Evan, standing up and holding his body closely as to not hit his head of feet while going up the stairs.

Henry signaled William to follow him with Lizzy. " Don't think I forgot you ." Henry added with a look over his shoulder. "Come on."

It was strange for William to see his best friend Henry acting so fatherly towards  Evan. However, it was a side of Henry that he had always loved and admired. With his big and strong physique and warm smile, Henry had a way of making everyone feel safe and loved. In that moment, William couldn't help but envy Evan for being carried around in Henry's comforting arms. As Henry reentered the room with a confused expression and a sleeping Evan in his arms, William couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness and contentment seeing his child so peaceful with Henry in such a caring and intimate moment. It was moments like these that reminded William of the strong bond they all shared and how lucky he was to have such an amazing "friend" like Henry.

"Yes I'm coming" William said shaking of the thought and carrying Elizabeth to the door. A slight blush growing from his cheeks thinking about kissing the most gorgeous man in the world in his eyes.

"Hello dear friend." Henry said as soon as they both reached the door. A warm smile spread across his face before leaning down to William's ear. "You can tell me what you were thinking about tomorrow morning when it's just you and me~" adding a small growl to his voice, which he knew only drove William crazy.

William smiled fondly as he looked over at his partner, heading into their children's room to tuck them in for the night. After Afton had put their youngest to sleep, William made his way straight to their bedroom, where he found Henry already cuddled under the covers of his bed. His amethyst-purple duvet covered him completely, except for the top half of his head where his ocean blue eyes peeked out. Seeing his partner like this, all warm and cozy, brought a sense of warmth and comfort to William's heart. He couldn't help but join Henry under the covers, wrapping his arms around him and feeling grateful for the love and family they shared together. As they drifted off to sleep, William couldn't help but feel content and at peace, knowing he was exactly where he was meant to be.
