Chapter 4

So he finally asked for your number huh” Annah looks at me with a sly grin on her face I don’t know what to do with myself so I just ignore her “You know he’s been starring at you for the past month when he comes here”

Wait what? why have I never seen him or in my case heard his voice? She looks at my questioning face “he never ordered himself and always came with one other guy” Ohh is that guy his boyfriend and he just saw an opportunity today to ask for my number because he is alone?

“Don’t think too much of the situation just ask him those questions when you two meet up later” Again with her annoying grin I just pushed her aside to continue my job, she laughs a little when she sees a slight blush on my cheeks.

It’s now my lunch break I’m just playing on my phone when I receive a message “Hi this is Jackson save my number. Btw we are having dinner tonight, I’ll pick you up later.” Uhmmm where is the question mark, Sir? Or am I being told, well isn’t he bossy

“I guess I can’t say NO then” or “It’s not even a choice” Should I block him and my excuse be he’s toxic or red flag behaviour? Okay, time to stop thinking let me live on the edge for a second hopefully I don’t fall and crack my skull in the process because that would be a shame, right…..

Time seems to fly when you are a nervous wreck. Before I knew it, it was time to close up the café “You can leave now Stormy I’ll finish up here someone is already waiting for you” What is she talking about now “I can wait” as soon as I heard his voice my head snaps up surprised and he chuckles, I look at Annah and nod I quickly go to the back to change when I come back out I find him seated at a table next to the door, I walk up to him with my eyes on the floor and stop next to him signalling that I’m ready to leave.

“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do” Annah just has to open her mouth and there isn’t a lot she wouldn’t do so I shall not be taking advice from her, I groan and start walking to the door while they laugh at my embarrassment.

He leads me to his black car I don’t know what it is but it looks nice and fitting for his bad-boy image. Right now as he is wearing all-black skinny jeans, a t-shirt, Adidas sneakers and a denim jacket. We get in the car and I notice he has his usual coffee, if he was tired he should’ve postponed to another time and gone rest “Do you want a sip of my coffee” Oh I guess I’ve been starring I shake my head and look down, he laughs a bit and starts the car. The car ride was quiet but it was comfortable.

I didn’t realise he had already gotten out of the car to open my door, I quickly get out of the car and walk behind him to the restaurant called Rouge “Good evening sir” the front desk woman greets with a polite smile “Reservation for Jackson Chan” the woman searches on her computer and grabs two menus and asked us to follow her, we get to a table for two next to a big window with a gorgeous view of the city. Jackson opens the chair for me and motions me to sit down, well this is a first.

The woman leaves to call us a waiter. “What would you like to drink I’m drinking wine” Jackson asks, I’m not a wine person “Tequila fruit cocktail,” I say not looking at him. The waiter comes and takes our order which he speaks. I’m really shy when it comes to talking let alone to someone I don’t know very well but he seems to be patient enough unlike some people in the past.

Anyway, I promised myself I would have positive vibes and try to know him the best I could then make my decision later and not shut him down before he proves himself.

I want to talk to him but my nerves are getting the better of me right now as I was trying to breathe I hear his voice lower than I’ve ever heard “Relax and breath slowly and don’t think too much just ask your questions out loud I’ll answer honestly, okay?” I nod while regulating my breathing “Are you gay” I ask quietly not sure if he heard me “Yes” he says without a pause “Are you?” he asks “Yes’’ I reply nodding.
