Chapter 4

It was mid day, school was almost over and due to a field trip it lacked half of the schools students. however alice never complained about it, its been a few days from her talk down with melly plinius, and shed been thinking about it ever since however even so shed also gotten better. with her brothers help ofcourse, alice was attending the final exams and even though she wont be able to retake the one she missed it was better than missing everything else, she made eye contact with anne a few times each day, her heart thumping in her chest and she just never seemed to take off that necklace.

everytime shed try to approach anne something would come up, or shed maybe run away, but not today...today she was going to try and talk to her surely she hadnt gone on the field trip too right? alice could only hope and pray. "You blew it with anne too huh?" a rough voice was heard behind alice and she turned around with a straight unamused face, it was the guy who had lead anne to hug her and cry on her when they started to communicate..well when anne started to communicate seeming back then alice was a huge stuck up...even though she may still be even just a tiny bit still. "its been months, you two havent talked, i got a boyfriend and schools about on the bring of closing, what are you planning to do? if youd like i can tell you a few things anne enjoys." alice's eyes widened at that, was he trying to help her? "see im annes ex, the one she cried to you about? i broke up with her because i found out i was gay." he spoke firmly and held out a small flower it was a white rose, was this for good luck? "its a symbol, she likes white roses because of its meaning. give it to her, say you picked it then apologize. i know you can make things right"

alice was stunned, did this guy just up and read her mind? she was lost at words, holding the rose in her hand delicately and batting her eye lashes softly trying t blink away that confused yet thrilling feeling, ganji himself started to walk away and about at a good distance alice called out to him. "ganji." he stopped, turning around slightly and tilting his head. "thank you." alice gave a soft smile and a wave, which ganji happily returned. in truth all he wanted to do was see anne happy again,,it was his only wish. even if he didnt love her the way she needed he does care for her more than anything.

Everyone was going home, including alice and her brother. however half way out orpeos cut the walk short telling her to go on and that he'll catch up after meeting with 'the boys' it made alice cringe inside, but then again she was a bit jealous for not making as much friends. alice still had the white rose in her hand twirling it around with her fingers, thats right. she didnt give it to anne, infact she didnt even see her the whole day. had she been on the bus? alice exited the school grounds deep in thought, shed only look infront of her when she had to cross the road and as soon as she glimpsed a familiar red had..anne? why was she walking the same route as alice? did they live close? how come she never noticed?

alice wasnt sure if anne realized she was behind her or not, but looking back at the flower then at the taller figure infront of her she took a deep inhale and called out, hoping it was the right person she called out to. "Anne!" the figure stopped, and turned around alice saw the other half of the necklace dangling from the other female, they still had a good distance and for just a moment alice felt as if the same hallway scene played again. once eye contact was made time froze, what does she say? what does she do! no! this is the same thing that happened, she was slow. and missed her chance, she cant let it happen again and just as she starred back at the panicked anne who seemed as if she was about to bolt off alice couldnt hold back, it was now or never!

"PLEASE, dont! dont run away from me!" alice was the only one moving, she was sprinting towards anne and while anne watched in shock and pure belief she could see the other half of the necklace..alice, wore it? once alice caught up to anne she sighed heavily taking in deep breaths. how dramatic! she hadnt even ran that far. "anne.." alice tried to sound as stable as possible, her eyes wondered for a bit until they starred into anne's own which she could see softened a little. a tint of blush coating her soft cheeks. "Alice, i should be getting ho-" anne was cut off once alice grabbed her hand. she acted on instinct and didnt realize until a few second later, silence washed over them it was awkward to say the least and the outside breeze along with chattering amongst people who passed and the sound of cars that drove by filled the place with a welcoming feeling. "Here." the hand alice grabbed on to was turned over and with her free hand that contained the rose she dropped it into annes palm, due to running and having it out so long the leafs edge turned brown and it started to lose some of its petals but it was pretty none the less. yes, a delicate flower.

"i heard you liked them...and its not in best shape no, but i wanted to give it to you." alice let her hands fall to her side, well atleast one of them did because her other reached up for the necklace piece she wore and held it out to the taller female. "and apologize for what i did that day, it was wrong of me. i didnt know what came over me, i was stressed and took it out on you. i shouldve have." alice was truthful with her words or atleast she tried to be. anne looked at the flower in her palm holding it gently and listening to the other with the upmost admiration, was this real? she felt like shed burst into tears right here right now! and so she did, biting back on her words until she brung alice into a silent hug which was shocking at first but returned none the less.

"oh alice, its beautiful. and please dont apologize its fine. i get it, im annoying and im not the best to be arou-" alice cut anne short with a small tap on the wrist which got the females attention. "none sense. your beautiful, lovely, kind, smart, funny...breath taking creative, artistic and everything else the list goes on i tell you! what i said, it meant nothing, i didnt mean it, and..im willing to start over, if youll give me that chance to. maybe we can be friends? like you always hoped for." alice stared at anne with a look of longingness she really did hope for an approval she really wanted to be by the females side again. and just like that anne whipped her face off with her sleeves oh! such a bad habit of hers. but alice didnt say anything about it anymore infact she pulled out yet another hanker chief to lend. "yeah.." anne said silently while drying her face, todays pattern was flowers and chocolate it seemed valentine themed but hell it was nowhere near valentines day! new years was just right around the corner i tell ya.

"id like that, to be your friend." anne said softly while holding the used hankerchief she smiled fondingly at alice and to which that smile was returned for anne her heart was filled of joy, had she earned the others trust finally? but to alice her heart was beating rapidly in her own ears...had she met an angel? "we should head home now." alice looked up at the female once more nodding silently as they both started to walk chatting amongst eachother.

"And ill see you tomorrow this time right?" alice asked as they bent a corner, anne lived just three houses down from alice so it was the same exact route which was good for the both of them. "ofcourse! we can even walk to school tomorrow if youd like." anne giggled softly lacing her fingers in between alices own, to which the two girls started to blush. "yeah...ill be with you then- walking! i mean! walking with you." anne chuckled silently, oh to be with alice,,that seemed like a mere dream however it was a dream she counted on.

"well this is where im off, good night anne lester!" alice opened her gate smiling and waving off, it seemed her brother hasnt come home yet which was fine since she normally liked not sharing the TV watching as anne waved goodbye and continued her walk a sigh escaped alices lips. more days to come a friendship to grow and two love struck females like a high school novel right?.
