Eat Your Young

Rose woke up to Remus knocking on her door telling her it was time to get up. After complaining she stretched and got up. Walking to the bathroom she said good morning to her dads and went to take a shower and brush her teeth.

Remus made a quick breakfast of eggs and bacon with some toast if they wanted it.

Rose quickly went to her room and got dressed leaving her jacket and shoes off until it was time to leave. She walked into the kitchen and sat with her dads. Mornings were always calm in the Lupin-Black house. Not one of them was a morning person.

They ate in silence and then brought all of their stuff to take with them and left it by the door. It was only 8 and they didn't have to leave until 10:30. So they all sat and waited for the Potters to get there.

Rose had fallen asleep laying on Remus because she had stayed up late and was still tired. Remus didn't mind Rose quite frequently slept laying on him. At about 10:15 there was a knock at the door. Sirius got up to open it and greeted his friends and god son.

"Rose wake up." Remus said to his daughter while slightly shaking her.

"Why?" she responded

"Harry's here" Remus whispered to her. Rose immediately got up and ran to Harry and hugged him. Then she hugged Lily and fist bumped James.

"We're going to my room." Rose said while they walked down the hallway. She opened the door to her room and they went in. Harry flopped onto Rose's bed while Rose got her socks and shoes.

"You're wearing the shirt I got." Harry stated looking at her outfit.

Rose looked up at him, " I told you I was going to didn't I?" She said finishing putting her socks on and grabbing her shoes.

Harry shrugged and they heard Lily yell for them telling them it was time to go. Rose threw her shoes on and pulled Harry up from her bed because he refused to get up on his own.

They walked out of Rose's room and she turned out the light and shut the door.

They all packed their trunks out to Lily and James' car and got in. They all had their own conversations until they got to Kings Cross. James parked the car and they all got out out and grabbed their trunks.

On the platform they said goodbye and got onto the train. Remus and Sirius sat together while Harry and Rose went to find their other friends.

Harry found Ron easily with Ron's bright red hair he kind of sticks out in crowds, Hermione was with Ron so that was easier then usual. Hermione ran to Rose and tackled her in a hug. Rose laughed and hugged the other girl back. Ron and Harry hugged as well.

They all found a compartment and shut the door Hermione sitting next to Rose and Harry sitting next to Ron.

"Alright everyone tell about your summer. I want to know everything." Hermione asked about every ones summer every year and she genuinely wanted to know. Rose went first talking about mostly staying home and being comfortable with her dads, Harry was next telling about also staying home and going to Rose's, Ron went last talking about going on hikes with his dad Arthur and how Fred and George turned his hair shit green again.

"How was your summer Mione?" Rose asked

"Oh it was good. We mostly stayed home or went out to the shops near my house." She said. Rose smiled and looked out the window admiring the beautiful view. And Harry looked at Rose and admired that beautiful view.

No one payed much attention though. They were used to Harry staring at Rose. The only people that didn't know Harry was in love with Rose was, Rose and Harry. It was so obvious to everyone around them but them. Even their parents knew. They don't push it though. Mostly because Lily told them to stay out of it and to let it happen on its own.

"I'll be right back." Rose said as she stood up.

"Where are you going?" Everyone asked at the same time

"Bathroom and to stretch my legs. Mione come with me please." Hermione got up and they left the compartment.

"When are you finally admit it?" Hermione asked with a smirk on her face.

"Admit what?" Rose asked confused looking over at the other girl.

"That you have feelings for Harry." Hermione answered like it was the most obvious thing ever.

"I don't have feelings for Harry. He's my best friend. That's it." Rose shrugged

Hermione groaned and dropped it as they approached the bathrooms.

The walk back to the compartment was silent. Not awkward just quiet. When they opened the door Ron had ended up sitting the girls side forcing one of them to sit with Harry. They made no fuss knowing they wanted to switch anyway.

The ride was quiet for a while with everyone eventually falling asleep. Harry laid down placing his head in Rose's lap. She looked down and smiled at him her hand going into his hair like always. He fell asleep quickly and Rose soon after using Harry's hoodie as a pillow against the window. Hermione ad Ron were laying over on each other as well to get comfortable.

Hermione woke up when the train came to a stop. She looked around at everyone else and quickly pulled out her camera to take a picture of Rose and Harry before waking them up.

After getting all of their stuff to their rooms they all went down to the great hall for dinner and the sorting. Rose and Hermione actually listened and payed attention while Harry laid on Rose's shoulder and Ron stared off into space waiting for food.

The sorting went by fast with them getting 6 new students in Gryffindor.

"Welcome back everyone!" Dumbledore yelled making everyone look up at him

He introduced Remus and Sirius as new teachers and did his usual odd speech. When he was done talking food appeared and everyone dug in.

After dinner the four went up to their common room and sat in the main area. Rose sat on the couch with Hermione while Harry sat on the floor in front of her and Ron had went up to bed.

Hermione read a book she had brought and Rose played with Harry's hair while he leaned back into her. And they just sat like that for a while, they were content.

A few hours later they were up in their rooms getting ready for bed. Hermione and Rose were alone in their room and they actually really enjoyed it.

They always went to bed early on the first night so they said their good nights and got comfortable. It didn't take long for them to fall into a peaceful sleep.
