Once Upon a Time,

There was an old woman living in a small cottage isolated a bit from the rest of town, she was considered the village crazy green thumb lady.

The old woman was happy with her life and her garden of lovely flowers, but the woman was lonely for she refused to marry, yet she wanted children of her own.

One day, the old woman was going out to the village market, there she noticed a poor elderly troll was being bullied by a few children, feeling bad for the creature, and always hating the prejudice for magical creatures, she takes the troll in and keeps her company.

Unbeknownst to her, the troll was actually a beautiful sweet enchantress in disguise, welling to gift to anyone she deems as kind and worthy.

Hearing the old woman's deepest desire to have a child, she decided to grant her wish, so before she left the cottage, she revealed herself as an enchantress and offers her a magic mirror as a gift for her gratitude, she also notes that this mirror will grant her greatest desire, and all she has to do is follow it's instructions without question and it will grant her wish.

The old woman watches the mirror and it shows a reflection of her younger self, who ordered her to wait until it snows and go to her flower garden of Scilla luciliae (glory-of-the-snow), hold the mirror tight to her heart, and then crush the mirror right in the middle of flowers, so it's shards can plant into the earth and wait and see what happens.

Excited, the old woman waited and waited for winter, but knowing that it doesn't really snow where she lives, she almost gave up hope, but then right on the winter solstice, a miracle happened, it started to snow really hard.

The old woman took this chance and ran outside to her garden of Scilla luciliae, where she did as she was instructed, she put the mirror near her heart, where the mirror read her deepest desire, then she drop the mirror and crushed it onto the crust of the earth, where it's shards got embedded into the soil of the flowers.

The old woman said a silent prayer as she waited to see what would happen, and then all of a sudden, something happened, a flower sprouted out, and all the snow stopped falling as if time was frozen, and it bloomed to reveal a black baby that looked exactly like her, except this baby was different, which surprised her.

The baby had hair that was as white and sparkling as freshly fallen snow and eyes as blue as ice. To make things even more magical and mysterious, the baby started shooting waves of frost through her tiny finger tips.

The old woman's eyes widened as she picked up the baby was this a curse or a blessing?

As the old woman lifted the baby towards her face, and the baby reached to cup and caress her cheeks with both of her hands, a feeling of love and warmth came over her, she finally got what she wished all along, a child of her own, and powers or no powers, curse or no curse, this baby was truly a blessing from heaven and that divine, kindly enchantress.

The old woman named the child right after the flower, she came from.

Through the years, the little child of snow grew up to be a beautiful, polite, yet witty young lady, and powers grew with her too.

Though, the little snowflake and her mother were ostracized by their whole village for Luci's powers and looks, they didn't mind because they had each other and that's all that mattered.

The girl was quite adventurous and fun as she would pass through the village sometimes and would freeze the tips of window glasses.

Soon though on the eve close to the little snowflake's 15th birthday, the old woman began to grow weak, she was on the brink of death, this deeply saddened the little snowflake for she wanted her mother to stay.

The old woman told her daughter not to be sad, but to keep moving forward with her life, and to explore the world, and to be nothing but herself, and to not think of the world as it is, but what it could be.

On the day of her death, the flowers decayed, all except one flower, the flowers, the little snowflake was born in, the little snowflake saw this and decided to use her frost powers to frost the flower so she can save it.

Meanwhile, rumors started swarming about the girl's gift to create ice and snow, earning the name, "The Snow Witch", and even though she wasn't a witch, and in her opinion, that term was just used to describe a woman of great power, only to undermine her with such a sexist title, in fact, it was a horrible title, she earned and hated, and soon this name would be heard by no one but the perfectionist lord of Duloc, Farquaad, who wanted all fairytale creatures banned from his kingdom, including the newly talked about "Snow Witch" .

The village that she lived in outed her location right to the guards, ready to be rid of the so called witch, and receive a handsome fee, little did they know, the little child of ice and snow caught on quick to their plan, and though reluctant, she decided it was time to flee and fulfill her mother's last wish and explore the world, and that's what she was going to do.

As she fled the only home, she's ever known, that was being burned by the villagers, though she didn't turn back or even bother to use her powers on them because she knew it was time to make a new living for herself and to free and protect any fairytale creature or anyone who was being undermined by Farquaad or anyone else.

She left her home behind with nothing but some herbs, books, and the flower that she was born in, the one that she frosted over to keep it preserved.

What was the name of this so newly called "Snow Witch", well that girl's name is Lucilia named after the flower, she was born from, a Scilla luciliae also known as the glory-of-the-snow.

And little did Lucilia know that this was only the beginning of her story alongside a certain ogre, who's lives would be changed forever because the rest is still unwritten.......
