"Percy wake up! Our plane's about to land!" I opened my eyes groggily, glaring at Antoine- Toni for short, my adopted brother, who'd practically screeched in my ear. He chuckled and booped my nose making me pout

I glanced out the window as I felt the plane descend slowly- How I managed to fall asleep in this unpredictable death trap I would never know- awing at the small glimpse of beautiful city below, though incomparable to Olympus, it was still a gorgeous view. I just can't wait to start anew in a new country I thought to myself, yawning.

Half an hour later and we were seated in a cab, Toni and the driver -Dean was his name- prattling on and on and on and on and- you get the point- about one thing or the other, mostly centering on the Parisian heroes, the miraculous team. Bored out of my mind, I turned to look out the window, mentally counting the vehicles that passed, categorizing them based on colors, brand and type. When I got bored of that, I tuned back into the conversation "-They sell the best pâtisseries in all of Paris!"

My ears perked up and I listened intensely, my brother smirked and leaned forward "Really? Please, tell me more"

Dean grinned and began a rant about the bakery, entirely in french. Thank the gods that Silena took the time to teach me french, if not I would've missed the delicious imagery Dean's rant concocted in my mind. I practically salivated when he spoke about their signature macaroons with their various flavors, each more tantalizing than the first. Toni chuckled patting my head "Don't worry, Doll, we'll get some once we're settled"

"Promise?"

"Cross my heart"

"Yay!" he chuckled again, ruffling my hair. The rest of the ride went by in a blur and soon we stopped by our new house- a two-storey building, painted with hues of black, grey and ash-blue, Toni paid the fare while I unloaded our stuff from the trunk, uncomfortable from the curious stares of our new neighbors  and passersby.

"Are you done?" Toni asked, poking his head into my bedroom

"Yeah" I grunted "Are we going to the bakery now?"

"Non, chérie" he frowned "We just got here, you need rest"

I pouted in response "Go to sleep, Percy. We'll go tomorrow, promise"

"Fineee" I whined
