Lily's POV
RIIIIIIIIIINNGGG!!!!

"Come on, just 5 more minutes." I mumble.

"Lily! Get your butt out of that bed! NOW!" Mom yelled in that demanding 'you better do it now or else' tone.

Rolling out of bed, I look at myself in the mirror and see my blonde hair in one giant bird's nest on my head that once was a cute messy bun. My sleep shirt is barely long enough to cover my bum, but that's okay because no one comes in my room at night, so no one sees anything. No one would want to see anyway because, let's face it: no one likes me. I only have two friends and they're not even really good friends. They still tease me, just like everyone.

"Lily! Get down here!" Startled by my mothers voice, I break out of my thoughts and hurry to get dressed. My normal school clothing consisted of big sweaters, leggings, and converse or flats, even during summer. However, since it was the first day back after summer, I decided to spice it up a bit. I decided to wear my MCR The Black Parade tee with skinny jeans and converse. I threw my hair up in another messy bun and rushed down the stairs to where my parents were.

As usual, my mom was in the kitchen making something (probably not edible) and my dad was in his home office yelling at someone on the phone.
Background information: my mom, Mackenzie, owns  her own bakery, while my dad, Paul, works as a lawyer. They are always busy, so I barely see them, except in the mornings.

Rushing through the kitchen I shouted a goodbye to whoever would hear, which would be no one and trucked my way to my car, and old beat up blue pickup truck. I've had my license for about 7 months, I believe. I usually drive one of my mom's friend's kid's to the high school 'cause we live a few houses away from each other. His name is Chase.

His name just flows off the tongue so simply; he's basically perfect in every way. We used to be really close; we'd never be apart. Then it happened last year. So, because of our mom's, I got stuck driving him to and from school.

When I squeal to a halt in from of his mansion, I honk the horn twice, which lets him know to get his butt out here or I'm leaving in exactly two minutes.

He hops in the passenger side with a bang and adjusts the radio as if he's the one that owns the truck. I don't need this this morning.

Pulling up in my parking space, I immediately get out of the car and start my trek to one of my many prisons.

"Hey, wait up Lily!" Chase shouts in his deep masculine voice.

Slowly, I turn and come face to face with him.

"What do you want?" I angrily snap.

"I just wanna walk with a gorgeous girl into school" he casually responds.

"Go find someone else then, cause I'm not." With that, I turn and go towards my class, when I'm sure he's not watching anymore, I veer off and go back to my truck and leave the parking lot to go to my consoling place.

My grandfather.
