Chapter One: A Day In The Life Of Peter Parker.

In an apartment in New York City, was a man with brown hair sleeping on a king sized bed. The sun shines through the curtains and onto the man's face. Waking him up.

This man was Peter Parker.

"Ugh!" Peter groaned as rubbed his face, he was groggy and wanted to go back to sleep. He threw his blankets over his head. However, he felt something crawl on top of him, and soon a wet sensation came over his hair and ear. Peter groaned out but he smiled as he turned to see his pet cat Dexter waking him up. Dexter was unique as he had an unusual blue coloring to his fur, but Peter loved him all the same.

"Alright, alright I'm up." Peter chuckled as he got out of bed. Dexter gracefully jumped onto the ground and followed Peter as he went to the restroom. Peter did his usual hygiene routine; showering, brushing his teeth, washing his face, etc.

Peter walks out of the bathroom refreshed. He heads into the kitchen to make himself breakfast. Upon entering the kitchen area of his apartment, Peter spots a box sitting in the middle of his table. It was a package that May had sent him. He never got around to opening it, he decided might as do it now.

Peter grabbed the box and started to open it. Once open, he reached inside and pulled an old school chemistry set. Peter raised a brow at this. "My old chemistry set that Uncle Ben got me? May I love you, but why did you send me this?" He asked himself. He quickly shook his head before gently putting it away.

He had a busy day ahead of him.

LATER

Peter walked the streets of New York, they were filled with people, all with their own things to do. As Peter walked, he passed by a Daily Bugle newspaper dispenser. He stopped briefly before looking at it. More importantly, the newspaper that was front and center.

"SPIDER-MAN MISSING! WEB-SLINGER NOT SEEN SINCE BATTLE WITH DOC OCK!"

Peter looked at the newspaper for a brief moment before walking away. "Man, I wonder what happened to that Spider-Guy?" He asked himself. He then spotted two cops cars going after a runaway vehicle. He watched as he saw them drove off in the distance.

"Man, I hope they catch that guy." Peter said before he continued walking.

A few minutes later, Peter had reached his destination, Horizon Labs. He entered the building and greeted the receptionist, showing them his ID. He then headed to his lab to work on his projects.

"Hey, Peter, do you have a minute?" Peter turned to see his boss Max Modell approaching him.

"Yeah, Max. What's up?" Peter asked.

"Nothing much, just wanted to see how you were doing. Especially after your accident." Max said.

His words caused Peter to run the scar on the back of his head. "I'm doing fine. Just y'know trying to move forward and all that." Peter said.

Max stayed quiet for a bit before smiling, "Well that's great to hear. Anyways I should let you get back to work. Have a good day Peter." Max said before he walked off.

"You too Max." Peter replied before heading to his lab. Upon entering, Peter sat down on one of the chairs and looked at his desk.

"Alright, let's get to work." Peter said before he started to work on his project.

HOURS LATER.

It was closing time and everybody went home. Though Peter decided to go out in the town to get something to eat. As well as to bring something back for Dexter. He soon found a bar and grill and went inside. However, as soon as he did, he accidentally bumped into a woman.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" The woman apologized.

"Oh no, no it was my fault. I didn't pay attention to where I was going." Peter said.

"No, it's alright I-wait Peter?" Peter raised an eyebrow, this woman knew him? Upon taking a closer look, he noted her features. She was around the same height as him, curvy, beautiful with red hair and green eyes. Though he couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity with the woman.

"Do I know you?" He asked.

The woman looked taken aback, which in turn made Peter think he offended her. He was about to apologize but the woman spoke first.

"It's me, Mary Jane Watson." The now named Mary Jane introduced herself.

Peter blinked for a moment before snapping his fingers. "Oh, you're the one actress I've been hearing about!" He said. "Sorry if I was being rude, I'm still having trouble adjusting after getting out of the hospital."

Mary Jane blinked, what did he mean by that?

Peter rubbed the back of his head while looking awkwardly. "So, um, not to sound rude or anything but how do you know me?" He asked.

"Wait, you seriously don't remember me?" Mary Jane asked.

"No, sorry." Peter said.

Mary Jane stood quiet for a moment. He really didn't remember her. She needed to talk to May about this. But for now she needed to know what Peter remembered.

"Um, well, how about I explain who I am to you over a drink."

Peter blinked, did this beautiful woman seriously invite him to a drink? "Um...sure I wouldn't mind." Peter said with a smile on his face. A smile that Mary Jane couldn't help but miss. A smile that always made her feel warm inside. She didn't know why but she felt like she could get used to this Peter. A blank slate.

'Maybe, we could work things out this time.' She thought to herself as she and Peter went over to the bar.

PETER'S APARTMENT

Dexter was currently napping on the couch, the TV was playing in the background. He soon woke up and stretched before sitting down. He then jumped off the couch and headed to his master's room. Once there Dexter headed to the closet and pulled out a torn and bloody Spider-Man mask. The blue cat looked at it and frowned. The man with the metal hands hurt his master, making him forget who he was.

The feline shook his head, there was no need to dwell on that now. Now he needed to go out and keep the city in order, as what his master would've wanted. Dexter puts the mask away and struts towards the window. He opened it and looked into the bustling cityscape.

Dexter hissed loudly as he started froffing from the mouth. His body glowed red before a red and black suit adorned itself on his body.

It was time for Dex-Starr to go on the prowl.

A/N: For those wondering when this story takes place, it takes place after Dying Wish but Superior Spider-Man never happened. More will be explained in later chapters. Also yes, that was Dex-Starr from DC Comics. How Peter took him in would also be explained in later chapters.

There will be a pairing in this story, whether it being a single pairing or harem is undecided. But I'll leave that up to you, the readers. If you're not sure who you want Peter to end up with, here's a list of options, for now at least:
