The virtual gallery of faces on the Zoom call depicted a tense atmosphere as the women vied for Quackity's attention.
As Emily and Lily continued their heated exchange, two other contestants, Maya and Isabella, had turned the spotlight onto themselves. Their argument seemed to have escalated from a mere disagreement to a full-blown feud.
"Maya, don't act like you're some relationship expert just because you dated a handful of people," Isabella sneered, her gaze sharp and accusing.
Maya's expression remained unflinching. "Isabella, at least I've had the guts to move on from my past relationships instead of clinging to them like they're the last lifeline I have."
"Oh, please. Moving on within a week of breaking up? That's just desperate rebound behavior," Isabella retorted, her raspy voice dripping with disdain.
Y/N watched the back-and-forth, her curiosity piqued by the intensity of the argument. It was like watching a verbal joust between two opponents who were determined to one-up each other.
"Desperate? At least I don't waste months of my life wallowing in misery after a breakup," Maya shot back, her tone defiant.
Isabella's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Oh, I'm sorry that I actually have feelings and take time to heal properly instead of jumping into the next relationship like it's a game. You need self respect Maya."
The tension in the virtual room was palpable, and Y/N couldn't help but marvel at the ferocity with which the two women exchanged words. It was clear that beneath the surface, both Maya and Isabella had deep-seated insecurities and emotional baggage that they were projecting onto each other.
The argument took another sharp turn as Maya's expression darkened. "And at least I don't end up with STDs from my exes."
Isabella's face flushed with anger, her eyes narrowing into icy daggers. "How dare you bring that up? That's none of your business! I don't have any."
As the argument escalated, Y/N found herself torn between empathy and incredulity. The way these women were tearing each other down was both fascinating and disheartening. It was as if the Love Or Host competition had turned into a battlefield of personal grievances and unresolved issues.
Eventually, AustinShow intervened, attempting to defuse the situation. "Ladies, let's try to focus on getting to know each other and showing your best sides to Quackity."
The call transitioned back to individual interactions, but the lingering tension remained. Y/N watched as Maya and Isabella exchanged tense glances, their rivalry simmering beneath the surface.
As the Love Or Host Zoom call continued, Y/N couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions.
