"You useless piece of shit!" his father shouted, kicking his stomach hard "You're a disgrace to this family! I wish you were never born!" he lashed another kick followed by a punch.

He cried out in pain, bringing his knees to his stomach. "Oh my god! Shut up! You're such a crybaby" his mother shouted from the kitchen, smoking a cigarette and drinking a bottle of wine.

His father kneeled down to his level, he grabbed his hair, forcing him to make eye contact. "You're just a useless little fag." he said, releasing brutally the grip on his hair.

Just a useless little fag.

Kyle woke up crying and sweating. "Fvck." he whispered "Not again."

Lately he kept dreaming of the day he came out to his parents. The way his father beat him relentlessly under the unfazed stare of his mother.

It was the worst day. His parents were never caring, they never gave him the attention and love he needed. They were always drunk or intoxicated and they would always remind him that he was a mistake.

His phone buzzed, he looked over at the lit display, there was a message from Trisha. He took it and unlocked it, reading the messages.

'Kyle! Where are you? You're late!'

♡︎Tris♡︎ 19:31

'I told the manager you had some problems with your car so you would be late.'

♡︎Tris♡︎ 19:32

'Move and get your ass here you dumbass!'

"Shit! I'm late!" He quickly got up, running to the bathroom. He took a quick shower and dressed up.

He took his phone and bag and ran down the stairs and out the door.

Kyle decided to walk instead of his car since Trisha lied about the problem.

He walked quickly and soon arrived at work.

Once he arrived he went to the lockers and put his belongings down. He then put on his apron and joined Trisha at the counter. He was lucky there weren't any customers yet.

Kyle worked with Trisha in a coffee shop downtown. It payed good and it wasn't (much) stressing, plus it kept him away from home for a few hours.

"Gosh, you almost got fired" Trisha said. "That's not true. Our boss won't fire anyone for being late. He would give you a speech on how much being in time matters, but he won't fire anyone." Kyle said, arranging the coffee cups.

"Oh, yeah that's true" Trisha exclaimed.

At that moment a customer walked in.

"I'll go, you finish to arrange these" Kyle said, heading to the cash register to take the customer order.

"Hi, what can i get for you?" he said, smiling.

"Uhm... Can i get a medium cappuccino and.. an apple pie"

"Sure, Takeaway or eat here?" Kyle asked

"I'll take it away."

"Alright, it will be 5.75$. Cash or card?" (is it too much? idc)
