"Mom! Come on, we don't want to be late!" yells Alex as she sighs checking her watch again.
Alex was a very beautiful, smart and talented girl. She played almost all sports, but there was only one she was passionate about, Basketball. It made her forget about the troubles she had in life.
Her basketball uniform was on point, as she would say. She wore a blue jersey that read "Warriors" on the front and the number two on the back. Her pants were blue also with gold trimming going down the shorts.
Her mom and brother skipped downstairs and they all headed off to the game.

It was the second quarter of the game and The Warriors were up by five and Alex was taking the ball down the court. She dribbled and felt the hard, bumpy basketball under her fingertips. She saw sweaty girls and then one came to her trying to take the ball and Alex wasn't having that. She broke down the free right lane and went for a layup, but she was horribly fouled by a 6ft tall girl. She was on the ground crying loudly, when she was fouled the girl pushed her on the ground mid-air and she came down on her knee wrong. The pain was unbearable. Everyone quickly rushed to her side, but quickly backed up when the coach told them to give her some space. Her mother and the coach looked down at her, they both had the same facial expression... worried.
"What happened, Chapman?!" asked the coach and Alex held her knee still crying.
"SHE FREAKING PUSHED ME AND I FELL! HOW DID YOU N-NOT S-SEE THAT!" she yelled with loud sobs between every word.
They quickly rushed her to the hospital and waited to see what was going to happen. Everything was blurry and Alex was only worried about one thing; the fact that her leg could possibly- scratch that, is broken and she wouldn't be able to play any longer.
After awhile, the doctor came back with the results and it was broken. She probably would have problems with that leg for the rest of her life. Alex felt so torn inside, she knew she was going to be out for the season.
"Mom, can I have a minute alone, please." she said on the verge of crying.
"Of course, sweetie." said her mother and led her younger brother out of the hospital room.
Alex put her hands in her face and started to sob. Basketball was her life and now she can't even play. She made the decision after sobbing for almost an hour, that she wasn't going to play anymore. It hurt her heart terribly, but she couldn't risk getting hurt again. Alex called her mom in the room and sighed.
