"Daisy is missing, I can't locate her anywhere!"
December 26th
12 AM"Did you inspect everywhere, darling?", Nicholas asks.
"Yes.", I respond. "Nicholas, she's not here."
"Don't worry. We'll find her. I'll assist you search.", Nicholas says, as we head on out, and arrive in the center of the woods. We stood scouring for hours, and I commenced to feel weary and began to doze off.
6 AM
"We'll locate her.", Nicholas reassures me, clasping my hand. His British accent vital than ever, and he's terrified, One of the most fearless people I know, is terrified. How could I allow this to happen? I was supposed to be protecting her, if I merely left her at the Palace, this wouldn't have happened. Why did I fetch her, what if something transpires to her? It would be my shortcoming!
"This is my fault! I obtained her here, and if something occurs to her. I would never be competent to pardon myself. Nicholas, what if she's dead?", I say, crying into my hands. Nicholas reassures me, hauling me into his arms, as he reassures me. I press my head into his chest, as my tears soak up his shirt. But he doesn't react, he persists in caressing my neck, soothing me. But that premature comfort reaches a halt when gunshots are fired. Nicholas grabs my hand, pulling me into a cottage. He passes me a gun.
"Do you know how to use it?", Nicholas asks me. "It can't be that hard.", I say, aiming the gun, at a piece of glass that shatters. "Shit!", I respond. "Bloody hell, Victoria!", Nicholas says, clasping his leg, as blood gushes out. "I deemed you could use it.", Nicholas continues. "Sorry.", I say. I look out the window, as more bullets are thrown, then my eyes meet with a horse. "I have an idea."
......
We fetch the horses, aim our firearms, that shoot down two fellows, and escape. We ride the horses for a bit then seize to a halt, taking a seat on the grass. I eye his open bloody wound, as he sighs, sipping his water.
"Let me clean the wound.", I say, to Nicholas. "It doesn't even hurt.", he responds. I roll my eyes.
"It could get contaminated.", I respond.
"Victoria.", Nicholas says, in a breathy voice, causing shivers down my spine. He stares into my chocolate eyes for what appears like eternity until he agrees. I smile, and take a cloth, as I dip it into the lake, bringing it to Nicholas' leg, easy to attain due to his ripped pants. He shudders, as the water touches it. "Sorry.", I respond. Nicholas gazes into my eyes. I make eye contact with him. "What is it?", I ask, removing the cloth, inducing our fingers to scarcely touch. "You're quite captivating tis all.", Nicholas says, his brown eyes locking into mine. "We should get going before the men come back.", I say.
"You're right."
TO BE CONTINUED
Don't tell me you thought they were going to kiss that easily, I've got to keep it suspenseful.
