Well Enjoy :)
(Gyzell's POV)
Tick! Tock! Tick! Tock!
The day could not being going any slower. I was waiting on my early dismissal, but once again my dad has failed me.
I look out into the parking lot to find something that will occupy my attention. I start counting the cars.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Then I organize them by their colors.
Tan, Green, Blue, Yellow, Red, and Green.
"Umm... Ms. Porter what is the value of x?"
I wasn't aware that she was even talking to me ; I just blurted out the first thing that came to my mind.
"Uh..42" I said, instantly regretting my choice once she shot me an annoyed look.
"Ms. Porter I would like to speak to you after class."
I already knew what was coming she would want to know why my grades were dropping. Or why I didn't have an interest in Geometry any more. Truth be told, I didn't even know the answer. Something was missing in my life and I always felt empty; therefore, I'm not giving my all to anything any more.
-After Class-
"Gyzell what's been going in with you lately? You were top 3 in my class now you barely maintain a C average." Mrs. Clarkston said, with concern in her voice.
I honestly felt bad because Mrs. Clarkston was one of the few teachers that actually cared for me genuinely. And how did I repay her? By barely maintaining a C average. I felt sorry for myself.
"I-I-I don't know Mrs. C. I just feel...I don't know." I said, not looking up once.
She raised my face up by my chin, forcing me to look up at her. We stared eye-to-eye for what feels like hours, but in reality, was only seconds.
"Gyzell this upcoming fall there's a Geometry Competition and I would really love for you to compete. You are very capable of being an honor student. But I don't wanna hold you up any longer, just think about my offer okay?" she smiles, with hope in her eyes.
"Okay Mrs. C and I really will try to get my grades up." I leave out of the classroom.
BAM!!! I get hit right in the head with, what feels like a brick.
'I'm sorry' A voice says.
He helps me up and picks up his books, which apparently is what I was just hit with. I look up at his face and he's GORGEOUS!
"I'm so sorry. I didn't see you coming and you didn't make any noise so-" he rambled. But I wasn't paying attention to anything he was saying because I was too but focusing on his ever-so-gorgeous face!
"I'm so sorry, I didn't see you and you didn't make any noise so I-" he rambled on and on. But, truth be told, I wasn't listening to a word he was saying. I was to busy focusing on that gorgeous face of his.
He stood about 5'8 and had the skin color of that special brown crayon in the crayon box that you didn't wanna use. The crayon that you were scared was gonna get too dull and not work any more. He had a low cut, but not too low. And his smile, Lord his smile was just breathtaking....literally!
I literally couldn't breathe and I guess it showed on my face.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
I open my mouth but no words came out. He had me at a loss of words....literally.
"Are you deaf?" he starting doing sign language and I couldn't contain my laughter because anyone could tell that he didn't know sign language.
"So you do talk, huh?" he smiled again. I nearly melted.
"Uh yeah- I just- I" I had the words in my head but I couldn't put it into a sentence.
"You okay?" he looked a little confused.
"Uh.." I coughed. "Yeah I'm okay." I finally managed to form a sentence.
"Oh because you had me scared for a moment. Ugh! I'm so rude, my name Cortez." He flashed another smile that I'm sure would make my legs turn into noodles at any moment.
