Mystic Falls is a town in Virginia, it has the usual things any small town has such as a singular high school that everyone attends, a mayor with a professional attitude but a bastard one behind the scenes, a house with a rumor about being haunted, a town drunk known as Digger, and finally, the local hang out for the teenagers of Mystic Falls known as the Mystic Grill. The Grill is owned by the Hartwin family, passed down through the generations being renovated with each owner to their own personal design. And the current owner, Ian Hartwin had many plans for the Grill that would eventually be passed down to his daughter; Blair Hartwin.
And that is who this story is about. Blair Marie Hartwin is an ordinary seventeen-year-old girl who is civil with everyone. Blair didn't stick to a singular group of friends, she bounced around a lot and hung out with people based on what hobby was her passion. She worked in phases, one month she would be painting landscapes and the next she would be learning how to knit; She never found something that just stuck but she was pretty much good at everything. Blair Hartwin went through the normal stress teenagers suffered, relationships and break ups, overdue homework, and project partners who didn't do their part; but she loved it either way.
However, Mystic Falls' former safe environment wasn't so safe, after all. There had been many strange occurrences and deaths being labeled under "animal attacks" which created concerns for the people of the town. Blair didn't trust what they were saying about the attacks, she felt like something was happening behind the scenes and her mother's enforced curfew was both a blessing and a curse. But it's hard to ignore the signs when one of your guilty pleasures is Twilight and Underworld; so when Vicki Donovan was found with a bite on her neck, Blair assumed that there was a vampire lurking in the woods waiting for girls to wander into its grounds during the night; she refused to be one of those girls.
So with the knowledge to stay the hell out of the woods of Mystic Falls, Blair limits her travel to home, School, and the Grill. Her parents were fine with their daughter's decision, both of them grateful that she had the common sense to avoid anything that could end up with her becoming a victim of an animal attack. But with that chaos aside, Blair was eager to finish off her Junior Year and go on to summer break in the coming months. This is why she is up early on a Monday morning going through her morning routine before putting on some whitewash jeans, a random graphic t-shirt, and a zip-up hoodie she left undone; slipping into her worn sneakers before grabbing her bag.
"Good morning, Blair," Cristina greeted with a kind smile on her face. "Morning, Ma," Blair replied before she yawned and helped herself to the coffee machine. "You're up early, why is that?" Cristina asked with a smirk that made Blair roll her eyes. "I promised Tyler that I'd give him a lift to school. He had his keys taken from him," Blair answered her mother causing the smirk to fall. "Blair, you are seventeen, go out and have fun. Get a boyfriend or girlfriend," Cristina told her daughter but Blair simply kissed her mother's cheek before putting her empty mug in the sink and heading out leaving her mother sighing.
