You and me, it's life and death

Chapter 3

- "I'll look for another compartment for the rest of the trip..."

Léana got out of the cabin and hung around in the hallway for a while. She passed the old lady who must have finished her turn and started looking for a compartment where she could stay. She looked in each cabin but none were free.

When she thought there was no more room left, she found a cart in which four young girls were laughing. Léana opened it and asked kindly:

- "Excuse me, can I sit here please? There's no more room anywhere."

- "Yes of course, my name is Lily Evans."

The young girl who had just spoken to him had long, straight red hair and beautiful green eyes. She seemed calm and relaxed. She had a warm, welcoming smile. To his right, towards the window, was a teenager with slightly wavy short brown hair. She didn't speak, she was very shy. In front of Lily, two girls who seemed very close had just stopped talking to listen to Lily make the introductions. The first had dark skin, raven black hair, long and curly, and eyes as dark as her hair. She looked suspiciously at the newcomer. Her neighbor, on the other hand, gave her a bright smile. She had brown eyes, smooth brown hair with a lock behind her ear. She was sublime in her overalls. Léana said to herself that she must have made more than one boy's head spin.

- "I am Mary Macdonald."

The shy girl. Léana thought she had no language but apparently she did.

- "And I am Marlene McKinnon"

They smiled at each other. They were going to be great friends, that was for sure.

Léana turned to the last young girl in the wagon, but the latter said to her:

- "Who are you first? Why have we never seen you before? How old are you? Why weren't you here before this year? Huh?"

- "Calm down Dor', said Lily laughing, you can see she's new."

- "My name is Léana Hérisos, said this one with a smile on her face, I was attacked..."

-"Sorry, Dorcas lowered her head, embarrassed, I'm Dorcas Meadowes."

- "Don't worry, it's okay. In any case, happy to meet you. You seem nice."

- "I reassure you, exclaimed Marlene, it's not just an impression."

They laughed together and talked about each other trying to get to know their lives. Léana answered Dorcas' questions but remained secret about several things she did not want to reveal to them. The five teenage girls had a blast. Then suddenly, Léana thought of the reaction of the boys when she had told them that she wanted to go to Slytherin. So she preferred to warn them instead of them finding out and resenting him.

- "Hey girls?"

- "Hmm yes?"

Dorcas and Marlene were playing cards, Lily was reading a book and Mary was dozing ready to fall asleep.

- "If we are not in the same house, will we remain friends? Because I like you very much and we have fun."

-"Do not worry." Lily smiled at him and put her hand over his in friendship.

-"Even if I'm in Slytherin?"

There was a short silence until Mary and Dorcas answered:

-"Even if you're in Slytherin."

-"In addition, Marlène rejoices, there are handsome guys in this house. You can enjoy them!"

- "Marles!" Lily scolded her while Mary, Leana and Dorcas giggled.

- "Thank you girls, she took them in her arms for a collective hug, you at least reacted well.

- "How does "we at least"?"

- "Yes it's true, did you tell someone else?"

- "Yes I was with Sirius, James, Remus and Peter before coming but when I told them that I wanted to go to Slytherin, they didn't behave well. So I left pissed off, I looked for a compartment and here I am here. Too bad, we had fun."

- "Oh but I'm not even surprised! They've been harassing my friend Severus since the first year just because he's a Slytherin! Well, everyone except Remus, he just follows them but hey, he does nothing to stop them."

-"By the way, it's weird, Remus also reacted badly when you told them?"

-"Actually, I left as soon as Sirius told me he didn't like Serpents. I heard James make a comment and then I didn't try to resume the discussion."

- "Leave it, they're idiots, said Lily exasperated, James runs after me but calls me "carrot" or "Lily-Jolie". How do you want that to make me happy."

- "Me, I find it cute, said Mary dreamily, I would have liked Sirius to talk to me like that..."

- "Mary, we have already talked about it, explained Marlène, Sirius is a womanizer who if you are with him for a very, very short time which is normal knowing him, he will abandon you and move on directly afterwards. ."

- "Yes, but I want to at least try."

After that, the girls changed because there was not much time left before arriving at Hogwarts. They continued to chat, laugh and play cards. The four Gryffindors told Leana about Hogwarts and the jokes (dumbness according to Lily) of the marauders.

The train arrived twenty minutes later and the students got off. Léana followed her new friends in the carriages. Thestrals pulled them in order to transport the students from 2nd to 7th year, to the school of sorcery. The teenager who adored these creatures, went to caress a thestral gently.

-"Do you... do you see them?" exclaimed Dorcas

- "Well... yes why?"

-"Thestrals are only visible to people who have seen death." replied Lily

- "Ah okay" she said this sentence without enthusiasm, as if it didn't matter to her.

They got into the carriage in the direction of the castle...
