"Hey mom" Arya says, a thud catching by Molly's ears as Arya drops her bag onto the floor by the couch. "Sis is home right?"
"Yes, Molly's home. She was waiting for you to arrive, do you have any homework today?" her mom asks.
"I did it at school before I left, can I help with dinner at all?" Arya asks, while subconsciously walking over to the levelling pad.
"No, not this time Arya. You can go up to see her now" her mom replies, to which Arya rides it up to the bedrooms.
"Hey sis" Molly says as her sister opens the door.
"Hi Molly, what's that?" Arya asks, noticing the white box on the floor and the bot at her side.
"It's a new robot apparently, I haven't seen this model before. Mom said it's for me but I'm starting to doubt that, she never told me to expect this to arrive and I can't afford to buy things like this myself" Molly replies.
"Have you read the manual yet? Is there a note that came with it saying who it was sent to?" Arya asks.
"The label on the box says it's addressed to me, I don't know why. And I haven't read the manual yet incase there was a mistake made with who to send it to, I don't want to bond with it or anything just to find out it was meant to be with someone else" Molly answers.
"Maybe you can ask mom about it again at dinner" Arya says. "I'm off to my room now, I need to shower before calling my friends. See ya."
"See you in a bit" she replies, Molly leaves her room and heads down to the main floor, entering the living room to sit on the couch.
A short time later their dinner is ready, and they sit around the table together to eat. The aromas of the seasoned chicken, vegetables, and bread fill the room. The meal is simple to make and one that the girls enjoy quite a lot.
"How was your day girls?" their dad asks. "Have your teachers said anything about upcoming events or releases?"
"No, mine didn't" Arya answers.
"Mine did" Molly replies, slightly raising her hand. "They said something about a new kind of robot being released at the end of the year."
"That's correct sweetie, there will be a new release later this year" her dad says. "Apparently it'll be almost the same height as us, almost. It'll be about 7 inches taller than the current height we have, and it's uses are to help assist us. And to be honest most of them will probably end up replacing workers in factories."
"Does that mean you'll lose your job?" Arya asks.
"It might, that all depends on where they get put to work" their dad replies.
"So it's not the one in my room then" Molly says before taking another bite.
"You have one in your room? I don't recall buying you a robot" her dad says.
Molly swallows before speaking up. "It got here around noon, mom brought it in. It's addressed in my name and it's from the place you work for."
"M.A.I.C" her dad replies. "Honey do you know why they would send our daughter a robot?"
"I don't know, and there wasn't a charge for it either. Perhaps it's a gift from someone" their mom says. "Have you set it up yet Molly?"
"No, I wasn't sure if there was a mistake in shipping or not, so I left it alone" Molly answers as she continues eating.
"If sis doesn't want it can I have it?" Arya asks her parents.
"No sweetie, sorry. The minimum age to have a robot of your own is 16, and you're only 13 right now" her dad tells her.
