Chapter Two~
I suddenly resurface from the blackness. Slowly, I sit up and look around confused. I'm laying outside. When did I go outside? Then I remember the note, and the mysterious person with the green eyes. His eyes.

When I stand up I'm a little shaky, but I manage to steady myself. I curiously look at my surroundings and my eyes lay upon a man. He is facing the opposite direction, but I automatically know he's the person who took me. I quietly sneak towards him, which isn't that hard because of my bare feet. Before I know it, I'm standing directly behind him and prepare myself to put him in a headlock. I swiftly do as I remember from my lessons, but a hand flies through the air catching my wrist.

He turns around after that and sighs. "Trying to hurt you own brother, Princess?"

I gasp. I was right, they were his eyes. But how can that be? My mother, along with him, died five years ago when I was 12 in a freak carriage accident. But he's standing directly in front of me, and as far as I know my eyes aren't playing tricks on me. "Ch-Chase?" I quietly say, still not believing what I'm seeing.

He lets go of my tiny wrist and pulls me into a hug. "Destine. You have no idea how much I've missed you."

My mouth seems frozen in place, because I can barely speak the words, "you look so different." Not really, but you know, I'm still in shock.

Chase finally lets go of me after from the long hug and looks me in the eyes. "Follow me." He says and turns around without explaining.

"Wait--," I start to say, but I know it's no use. If Chase's personality is still the same, then he'll just ignore me. So I rush after him, glad I was wearing jeans and sneakers, instead of my usual dress and heals.

Chase leads me into a nearby forest, and I have to hurry to keep up with him. I have no idea where we are going. I bit my lip as I weave through the trees. I absolutely hate not knowing things. And Chase knows it. We continue walking for what seems like forever, but in actuality is probably give or take ten minutes. All of a sudden he stops, so I accidentally run straight into his back.

"Good, you're still following me." He murmurs. "We have horses about a half a mile up. But be prepared, it'll be a long ride even with the horses." He says and continues to trek into the woods. I take a second to breathe before trailing behind him.

After walking for another seven minutes, Chase and I mount two horses to ride, instead of traveling by feet. Until now, I never realized the purpose for the horseback riding lessons my mom forced me into. As I sit on top of my horse, I feel relived to be off my tired feet, and start to look at my surroundings. On our walk here, I never took the time to be aware of how beautiful it looked. Many times, I've had to stop steering my horse away from the path Chase was leading me on, so I focus on following him. After about an hour of travel, Chase brings his horse to a stop and dismounts. I follow, knowing he'll only tell me to do so.

I was right. I see him duck his head back to quickly see where I am, but I am confused by what he does next. He walks up to a nearby tree and reaches above his head to pull on a branch. Suddenly, there is a rumbling movement and a part of the ground opens up like a trap door. Chase grabs onto the reins of his horse and turns to face me. "Come on, then." He says and nods his head in the direction of the opening, and walks with his horse into the entrance. Even though I'm not entirely sure it's the best idea, I grab my horses reins and follow him down into the unknown.
