Returning from Darkness (RQ)

(I'm sorry but I'm in the mood for angst, so you'll get angst before you get fluff.

BTW, heavy Lightber shipper for RQ so... yea... gives more drama and more angst >:D

And... I'm gonna give a little context for Sabre in my AU, he's a mutant chicken hybrid... that's all you're getting because I've built a lot of lore for this dude and I ain't spilling in a note before the story.)

Light and Violet Leader found it odd when activity from corrupted Sabre stopped all of a sudden; what made it even more odd, Time had been watching Sabre from the Time Dimension and said that he hadn't left a certain area in two days.

After checking with Time, Violet and a reluctant Light went to the forest to put a stop to corrupted Sabre once and for all. Light brought his best guards with him, he had been training them since before the Colorless Guard was even an idea; they were the first Steves he asked to join the guard.

Violet held a lantern in one hand and his bow grasped tightly in his other as he led them through the dark oak forest. He didn't know what they would find when they got to their destination. 

There could be a million reasons why Sabre hasn't left the area, there could be a base, something Void took an interest in, or someone killed him. These were the top options of why Sabre was still here in Violet and Light's minds.

When they arrived, they found nothing. No base. No building or structure, old or new. No signs of life. And finally, no signs of Sabre. There was no evidence that anyone was here, no trees cut down or cleared, overgrown grass, and no darkness.

"Are you sure this is the right place?" Light asked Violet, "Time said the compass pointed to the area Sabre has been in the past couple of days," Violet said while looking at the compass. "Maybe we spread out and see what we find?" One of the elites suggests, Light and Violet nod and everyone splits into groups to search the area.

~ Time Skip ~

After a long day of searching the dark forest, Light ordered some of his guards to set up a camp for the night. "You, climb one of the trees and see what's around us," Violet ordered one of the guards, who nodded and looked for an easy to climb tree.

Light and another guard went to find more firewood while Violet stayed to wait for the guard he sent up the tree. A surprised yelp was heard before a snap, crash, and pained filled groan came to the ears of Light, Violet, and the other guards. The guard that was sent up the tree sat up with a bit of difficulty.

"You alright?" Light asked him, "Yeah, I'm fine! Can I talk to you about something?" the guard asked him, Light nodded and followed him into a tent just set up. "He's in the tree," the guard said while pointing to the tree he fell out of, "Don't tell Violet, he'll shoot him on sight. I don't want to kill him, if we can be saved from the Darkness why can't he?" Light ordered and mumbled the last sentence as he left the tent.

"Light, there's someone in the tree," Violet called while pointing his bow up into the thick leaves, "I know, I'm gonna check it out," Light called back as he made his way over.

Light pulled his armor off to make climbing the tree less of a harrowing task. With less weight on his arms and legs, he started climbing the tree. "I'll keep an eye on them in case they try to move," Violet called up, "Perfect, don't shoot just in case. That means put the bow away," Light said while turning to look down at Violet, who rolled his eyes and set his bow to the side.

When Light got to the thickest part of the tree, he found Sabre curled up against a thick branch and a distant look in his eyes. He had to do a double take for a second, Sabre indeed didn't have his bandanna on instead he held in it his hand; his eyes were a mix of green and grey.
