It's been a few weeks after Wu Bi got back home from the hospital.

Not much had changed yet everything has at the same time.

It's still an ongoing investigation against his uncle's side of the family. But if everything goes according to plan, they won't be out roaming free soon.

They will all be locked away behind bars, like they deserve.

It's the price they have to pay for messing with the wrong people from their own family.

Wu Bi's Father has been completely involved in the investigation to take them down. Not only was his ex-wife killed, they nearly killed his son too. Hell hath no fury like a Father scorned.

What I thought would be just another lackluster and boring day, turned out to be not what I was expecting.

I woke up thinking I could go to the market for the day and stock up our fridge with some groceries, since it seemed like Wu Bi was getting better day by day.

We can't be stuck together all the time, and he can't be relying on me for everything otherwise he'd never wanna recover.

I left on pretty good terms. Wu Bi was perfectly fine, and agreed on our little arrangement for the day.

Little did I know, I took a little too long at the market and ran into some people I knew along the way.

I even encountered Mao Chong, and we spent some time chatting and catching up on what happened. He was really concerned, so I filled him in on the details.

"Are you sure you're going to be OK walking back all alone after what happened?"

As my one and only best friend in class, Mao was adamant on making sure I got back home safe. He really didn't want me to be all alone. Especially when people are out to murder me!

"Yeah~ But only if you insist, and if it will calm your nerves... then I won't mind if we walked home together. You just have to be real careful that you're not seen alone with me, cos your life could end up in danger..."

I tried my best to scare him away somehow, otherwise it's too risky to have him walk me home. And I'm NOT referring to Wu Bi's cousin and his people. They are the least of our concerns.

If Wu Bi even as catches a glimpse of Mao walking me home, he'd be a dead man walking.

After what happened when he just found a headphone in my room that wasn't his or mine. I don't even wanna imagine what he would do if he found out it was Mao's headphones~~

As his one and only friend, I need to take care of this ASAP!

I don't have many friends left, and I don't want them all to end up buried in a grave alive, cos of Wu Bi's inexplicable jealousy!!!

"Oh god~ It's that bad??"

"You have no idea who you're dealing with, friend~"

"Then... I really can't leave you alone!! As your best friend, I will protect you from harm!!"

Mao began his usual nonchalant attitude while walking alongside me, with his arms around my shoulders and guiding me home.

I need to come up with a Plan B, otherwise I'm gonna get my own friends blood on my hands when I get home.

If I keep this up, it will be like I'm leading him into the lion's den to get mauled and eaten alive.

Luckily for me, my other best friend (the one I grew up with) Bokuang rode by just in time on his bike.
