To my inner child

Deep down in my soul, my inner child takes a stand

She's beaten and bruised like a battering ram

By the woman she's grown into

Always questioning her stance

The light in her eyes disappeared long ago

By the bullies and monsters who took all her hope

But that little voice inside her suddenly spoke

Ignore all their actions, they won't go away

But I promise you that it will all stop one day

That day finally came, their words are just scars

That voice deep inside her protected her heart

Now nothing can break her resolve as she stands

Holding her inner child's small hand
