This book is not for people who want to read a story following the canon and fanon of Harry Potter books step by step.

I am writing it out of fascination with the character of Sirius Black. I always saw him as someone so full of contradictions that it's hard to even describe him in a few words.

He is brave to the point of recklessness, but also incredibly smart and thoughtful if needed. He is loyal, but sometimes forgets to think about the impact his actions have on others. He learns to become animagi to help keeping Remus' secret, then gives it away in a petty revenge on Snape.

Fandom usually describes him as a bad boy with morals, but I think it's a bit too simple. That's why I decided to try and explore his character and speculate on how events from his years at Hogwarts turned him into a complicated man we see in books.

That being said, I will try to be faithful to his descriptions in Rowling's work and my interpretations of them, but not to the chronology of specific events. Some of my takes might seem controversial if you are used to one way of perceiving him, so please, keep an open mind.

All characters, apart from Joy Woods, her family and friends, belong to J.K. Rowling.

I want to underline that I don't support her or her believes in any way. If you are transgender, know that I'm standing with you. I feel deeply hurt by the way this women uses her platform and how she denies trans people safety both figuratively by driving them away from home that her work used to be and literally by fighting for taking away their rights. As someone who doesn't need to transition, I can't even imagine how it feels to be denied the possibility to do so.

The story contains a few queer identities including asexuality, pansexuality and non-binary, so if you don't accept them as part of community, respectfully leave and save us all time and anger.

As a last note, I would like to say English is not my first language and it's first long form work I wrote in it, so please be understanding, and if you notice any mistakes, let me know.
