Fuck you, I hate you so much." Anne says to Marie while violently kissing her, mouth to mouth, both were crying.
The middle of the forest, their forest, where they were safe from life, from oppression, from their small town, from everything, that place was a safe haven for both of them. Now, it was just a burning memory, aching in Anne's mind.
The last look they had at each other was when Marie had gone away, she was looking back in the car window, crying so much she couldn't breathe, the same with Anne.
Marie kissed her husband, Ronald, before he left to work. They had just married, spending their honeymoon in Hawaii, it was very romantic.
He was the best guy ever, she thought, she used to hate men really hard, but after she found him, she started hating even more. The only man she ever loved was her husband. Seeing how nice he was, how nice men should and could be, it got her really angry.
She was a housewife, doing the chores while her husband worked on a paying job. That was the life she chose, the big city life was fast, she could not keep up the pace, so she decided to stay at home.
Marie was really lonely, they talked about having kids, but Ronald always said that "It wasn't the time." and "It would cost a lot to us." Both were true, but it still left her upset.
All the days were blending after the marriage, becoming the same, she looked forward to it, but when it happened, she wasn't all that happy. Ronald was a great person, yeah, but being alone at the house also wasn't what she wanted.
After doing everything she needed to do, she sat on the sofa and slept, right now her free time was spent sleeping, when she was not conscious the void of numbness couldn't invade her heart.
Robert arrived home, and she greets him, just like all the other days. He eats the food she cooked, watched some television and both got to bed. Robert wasn't that talkative of a person, so they mostly stayed silent.
They rarely had sex, just on special occasions, like valentine's day or their wedding's birthday. Today was no exception.
The e was deafening, more than usual, she knew he had gone through some bad experience at work, when that happens, he stays even more silent. She decides to break the ice.
"This year is going by so fast!"
"Yeah."
"I mean, I could swear february was yesterday, and now we are in october already."
"Indeed."
"You know what we should do? A trip, to break the routine a little bit."
"We're short on money."
"Doesn't need to be anything big." She pauses. "Maybe we could go to my hometown, it is a small town, but their Christmas party is amazing."
"Tomorrow we can talk about that, I just need to sleep right now babe."
"Ok, goodnight babe, just keep it in mind."
The day came, she kissed him, he got to his job, returned home, ate dinner, watched TV, and got to bed again. The same routine.
"Babe can we-" She tried to finish her sentence, but he interrupted her.
"Is it about the trip?"
"Yes."
"Can we talk about it another time? I'm really tired."
"Ok, we can, goodnight babe."
"Goodnight babe."
