I will not elaborate any further.
The sterile walls of the underground facility closed in around me, their pale fluorescence casting an eerie glow. Panic surged through my veins, each heartbeat reverberating with the desperation of escape. My breath came in ragged gasps as I fumbled with the unfamiliar restraints, my hands trembling against the cold metal. "No, let me go!" I pleaded, the words a fragile barrier against the encroaching terror.
Government agents in dark suits surrounded me, their faces obscured by shadows. Their eyes bore a detachment that chilled me to my core, a stark contrast to the fear that consumed me. "Subject 037 is resisting," one of them remarked in a monotone voice, the words carrying the weight of finality.
In a swift and coordinated motion, they closed in, hands like vices as they forcibly dragged me toward a peculiar chamber at the center of the room. It was a metallic cocoon, adorned with strange lights that pulsed like a heartbeat. A sense of doom shrouded me as I fought against the inevitable, the cold fingers of despair clawing at my mind.
"No, I won't go in there!" I protested, thrashing against their grip. But my pleas fell on deaf ears as they shoved me inside the chamber. The world around me swirled into a frenzy of colors and distorted shapes, reality itself bending and warping. My last glimpse of the agents was a haunting tableau, their faces etched with a macabre blend of curiosity and detachment.
Then, an icy stillness settled over me. The chamber hummed softly, its vibrations lulling me into a disoriented state of consciousness. The sensation of floating, of being suspended between moments, gripped me. The world faded, replaced by a void that swallowed my thoughts and senses whole.
Time lost all meaning as the darkness consumed me, and my consciousness slipped into an abyss.
---
When I awoke, it was as if I had emerged from a dreamless slumber that spanned centuries. The chamber's hold on me relinquished its grasp, and I staggered out onto unfamiliar ground. The air tasted different, tinged with a metallic edge, and the surroundings were bathed in an otherworldly glow. My heart raced as I realized that the world around me had irrevocably changed.
