I see him from across the street and we make eye contact. He's been crying.

I can't help but notice the perfect structure of his face, he doesn't even have to try.

When I get closer he looks even more shameful up close. "Hi," I say hesitantly.

"Hello," he says.

"I'm sorry about Amanda.. You know, earlier. I don't know what's been going on with her," I say, twisting a loose string on the hem of my T-shirt that has a cartoon of a dinosaur on it.

He just looks at me with no emotion in his face. He's just blank, making this even more difficult.

"I don't know what you did, but this means a lot to me. Even though you could or could not be responsible for what's currently going on, you might wanna tell me so I don't flip shit."

He knows I'm not playing games now. His eyebrows raise. He's looking at me like I'm a sociopath and he backs up a bit, preparing to bolt.

"Look, I know we came here to talk about what happened but Amanda doesn't want me telling you. I just needed to talk to you one-on-one." he looks at me seriously.

"Fine." I say, frustrated that he had to lie to me. "What do you have to say?"
