Izuku's POV
Izuku's heart raced as he walked down the busy streets of the city, his phone held tightly in his hand. He couldn't believe that he and Mirko, Rumi, had agreed to meet for coffee. It was an opportunity he hadn't even dared to dream of.
As he entered the cozy café, he spotted her sitting by the window, her silver hair catching the sunlight. He couldn't help but smile at the sight. Taking a deep breath, he approached her table.
"Hey, Mirko-san," he greeted, his voice a mix of excitement and nervousness.
Rumi looked up, her lips curving into a grin. "Izuku, right? Took you long enough to get here."
Izuku chuckled nervously. "Sorry, I got a little lost."
"Sit down," she said, gesturing to the chair across from her. "You're not the first person to be intimidated by my hero charm."
As they settled into conversation, Izuku found himself opening up more than he usually would. He talked about his time at U.A. High School, his experiences in internships, and the challenges he had faced. Rumi listened with genuine interest, interjecting with her own stories from her early hero days.
Rumi's POV
Rumi was surprised at how easily she and Izuku fell into conversation. He was passionate and earnest, just as he had been at the convention. She found herself sharing stories she hadn't spoken about in years, and it felt strangely liberating.
As the conversation turned to more casual topics, she asked, "So, Izuku, what do you do for fun when you're not training to be a hero?"
Izuku scratched his cheek, a sheepish smile on his face. "Well, I'm a bit of a nerd, so I like reading hero analysis books and watching hero movies. And, uh, sometimes I help out at my mom's shop."
Rumi's interest piqued. "What kind of shop does your mom run?"
"It's a small bakery," he replied. "I used to help out a lot when I was younger, and I still pitch in when I can."
Rumi's lips curled into a smile. "That's sweet. You're a hero-in-training with a heart for baking."
Izuku chuckled. "I guess you could say that."
Third Person POV -
Across town, Mina Ashido and Ochaco Uraraka sat at a café of their own, sipping their drinks as they chatted.
"So, Ochaco, have you heard from Izuku-kun lately?" Mina asked with a playful grin.
Ochaco blushed, stirring her coffee. "Well, he's been pretty busy with hero training and all. But he did mention meeting Mirko at a convention."
Mina's eyes lit up. "Ooh, is that so? Sounds like things might be getting interesting."
Back at the café, Izuku and Rumi's conversation flowed seamlessly. They discovered shared interests, from their favorite hero movies to their mutual love for classic literature. The more they talked, the more they realized how much they enjoyed each other's company.
Izuku's POV
As their coffee cups emptied, Izuku felt a mix of contentment and reluctance. He didn't want the afternoon to end, but he also didn't want to overstay his welcome.
Time seemed to slip away as Izuku and Rumi continued their conversation. They delved into more personal topics, sharing anecdotes from their childhoods and discussing their dreams for the future.
"So, Rumi-san, what made you want to become a hero?" Izuku asked, genuinely curious.
Rumi leaned back in her chair, her gaze distant for a moment. "I guess it was partly because of my admiration for heroes who could make a difference. But it was also because I wanted to prove that even someone like me, with a quirk that wasn't conventional, could succeed."
Izuku nodded, his eyes filled with understanding. "I can relate. When I was quirkless, people doubted my potential, but I always believed that I could become a hero."
Rumi smiled. "And look at you now, on your way to becoming a great hero."
As they talked, Izuku realized how much he had underestimated Rumi's complexity. She was more than just a fierce hero; she was a person with dreams, insecurities, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Rumi's POV
Rumi found herself drawn to Izuku's unwavering optimism. He saw potential in everyone, including himself, and his unwavering determination was infectious.
"Izuku, do you ever doubt yourself?" she asked, her voice softer than usual.
He looked thoughtful for a moment. "Of course I do. There are times when I'm uncertain, when I wonder if I'm doing enough. But I believe that as long as I keep moving forward, I'll find a way."
Rumi's heart skipped a beat at his words. His outlook mirrored her own, a testament to their shared passion for heroism.
Third Person POV - Other Characters
Mina Ashido and Ochaco Uraraka continued their chat at the café, with Mina unable to contain her excitement. "Ochaco, this is like a real-life romance movie unfolding!"
Ochaco laughed. "It's definitely interesting. Izuku-kun seems to be getting closer to Mirko."
Mina leaned in, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Maybe you should give him a nudge, Ochaco."
Ochaco blushed but shook her head. "I think they're doing just fine on their own."
Back at the café, Izuku and Rumi's conversation shifted to their experiences as heroes-in-training. They shared funny mishaps from their internships and discussed the challenges they faced as they honed their skills.
Izuku's POV
As the afternoon sun began to dip below the horizon, Izuku realized how much time had passed. He looked at his watch and sighed. "I can't believe how late it's gotten."
Rumi glanced at her own watch and smirked. "Time flies when you're having a good conversation."
Izuku's lips twitched into a smile. "Yeah, it does."
"Izuku," Rumi began, her tone more serious, "I've enjoyed our time together. You're not like most fans I meet."
Izuku's heart raced at her words. "Thank you, Rumi-san. I feel the same way."
Rumi's POV
Rumi watched as Izuku stood up, his expression a mix of reluctance and determination. She couldn't deny the connection they had formed in such a short time, and it both thrilled and terrified her.
"Izuku," she said, her voice softer than before.
He turned to her, his green eyes filled with curiosity. "Yes, Rumi-san?"
She hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Would you be interested in doing this again sometime? Maybe not as a hero convention or a café, but just... hanging out?"
Izuku's face lit up, and he nodded eagerly. "I would love that, Rumi-san."
Rumi smiled, her heart lighter than it had been in a long time. As he left the café, she realized that this chance encounter had ignited something within her that she hadn't felt in years.
