I'm watching the 2 screens hanging on the wall. Both show a girl, completely unaware of the eyes tracking them down. One pair of eyes belongs to a woman, sitting on a chair while writing on a notebook. She is discussing with the man next to her.
They don't know I'm standing right behind them. They often aren't paying enough attention to notice me, as I wander around the hallways in the times I'm allowed out.
Then, the woman seems to find out I'm in their presence, and she turns around on her chair, a pleasant - but fake - smile spreading over her face. It doesn't reach far enough to let her cold eyes smile too, their icy hue locking eyes with mine. "Lily! What a surprise! What brings you here?" The man seems to don't bother that there is another person in the room. He stares at the 2 screens, like it's all he has ever done.
"I was just wandering around," I mumbled, as I stared at the screens. Soon I would be allowed outside. I would meet them, just as they would meet each other. Everything was planned out for them, and for me. Life would seem perfect for them, and for me, I would be able to experience some sort of freedom outside the white walls of the compound.
"You should head back," the voice of the man echoes. "It's almost dinner time." I groan as I turn around, he obviously doesn't want me here. "Fine," I mumble as I close the door behind me, and start my way back to my cell.
