The Philippines was rarely the one to get annoyed. With her cheery and positive personality, it seems impossible to be so.

But today was one of the exceptions.

She woke up to the loud shouts of rallying of the people at the streets. It happens more often at these type of times, especially now that the presidential elections were a little less than a year away. She hated waking up to that. The angry shouts, it just stresses her, even more than all the work she does. She didn't like the protests of her countrymen that are disappointed at the government's performance.

Of course, her little brother, Bangsamoro, just needed to make her day worse than it already was. Her brother was not a nation, he was only a part of her country that was granted autonomy over his territory. For now, his teritory was still referred to as Autunomous Region in Muslim Mindanao - ARMM, for short - as the Bangsamoro Basic Law was still in the process of being reviewed by politicians in the Congress, deciding if they would pass the law.

Unable to wait, her brother kept pestering her to 'just pass it already' all day long. All. Day. Long. That was the reason she developed a pounding headache that won't even stop for a second.

And as if she didn't have enough of stress, a world meeting was arranged later that same day. Wow, fun. That will really help with her headache.

The bickering of the countries and multiple insults thrown back and forth filled the air, and it only made her headache more unbearable than it already was, and from across the table, China glared at her. The two countries were not in very good terms right now because of the fights they are having about whose teritory was Spratly Island and Scarborough Shoal. To that, the female country just glared back. The Chinese man just frowned at her then looked away, probably to bicker with some other country.

Closing her eyes, The Philippines used her fingers to massage her temples, hoping to ease the ache. Though, a familiar voice caused her to open her eyes again.

"Hey Juana, you alright there dudette?"

"Yes, Kuya [1] Alfred. Just... Tough times." The Philippines sighed, then smiled as greeting.

"Tough times, huh?" The strong nation inquired, sitting on the chair beside Juana. She just nodded, glancing at China who was frowning at her direction once again.

"Problems with China's getting worse?" Alfred asked after he took notice of the glare they held at each other.

"Opo [2]. And Bangsamoro's not helping." The female country said, burying her face in her palms.

"You know, I can help you with your problem with China."

This shocked The Philippines. Of course asking for some help from the American have crossed her thoughts multiple times - more times than she actually cared to admit. But she didn't thought he would actually agree.

"Really?" Juana asked in disbelief.

The loud country just smiled at her. "Of course! It is the Hero's job to help!"

"Thank you, Kuya." The female said, feeling a little bit better.

"In one condition."

"What is it, Kuya?" Juana asked, confused. What could he possibly want?

"Stop calling me 'Kuya'."

"But..." She hesitated, but agreed afterwards, "Okay po [3]."

"And also drop the 'po' and 'opo'."

"Why?" The Philippines asked. She continued, "You know it's how I show respect to someone older than me."

"Yeah, I know. But it makes me feel really old." Alfred explained.

"But you really are old." She reasoned. To that she got a "Shush!".

She rolled her eyes at him, but a smile was on her lips.

"Okay, Alfred."

Translations:

[1] Kuya - 'Big/Older Brother' , but is also commonly used to call a male who is older than the speaker.

[2] Opo - used when saying 'Yes' to a person older than the speaker. 'Oo' is the Filipino word for 'yes' that is used when talking to someone of the same age or is younger than the speaker.

[3] Po - Doesn't really have an English translation. This word is used to give respect to a person who is older than the speaker.

About the name I used for The Philippines, I know some prefer using the name "Maria" for her, but I chose to use "Juana" because I think Maria is one of the possible names for Ukraine. (?, I'm not really sure)

As for the Bangsamoro thing, I just decided to put it because it was in the Philippine news lately. So, yeah.

Well, I hope it's good. I just felt an urge to write about The Philippines. Especially because today is the Independence Day of The Philippines. (June 12)
