Bane orchestrates a plan to break Batman both physically and mentally. Bane releases a multitude of dangerous criminals from Arkham Asylum, forcing Batman to face numerous adversaries. After enduring a grueling series of battles, Batman confronts Bane, but his physical and mental exhaustion causes him to break, and he is dead.
