Eliza was sat in the leaving room as she heard her father talking to the 'guests' to whom she had not seen as they approached the living room their voices got louder "Let me introduce you to my daughter" "Eliza this is Thomas Jenkins" Eliza looked at him up and down he had brown hair tall he wasn't bad but he wasn't Vronsky either "I am Eliza very nice to meet you Thomas. I will be taking my leave now I am not feeling well" "yes you should you look quiet unwell" "thank you sir Jenkins very nice meeting you" Eliza walked past her father as she felt his cold stare behind her back. As Eliza went upstairs she could hear the guests leaving she then heard her door open "why did you leave" "I wasn't feeling well" "I dont care that man Thomas is your future husband do you hear me" "Papa I refuse to get married to a man I don't love" "LOVE LOVE WHY ARE SO MUCH LIKE YOUR MOTHER DO YOU KNOW BECAUSE OF THE LOVE YOUR MOTHER HAD FOR YOU IS THE REASON AS WHY SHE DIED I TOLD HER TO GO TO A MORE ADVANCED HOSPITAL TO GET TREATED OF HER ILLNESS BUT SHE REFUSED SAYING THAT'S IT'S GOING TO TAKE YEARS AND SHE CANT MISS HER DAUGHTER GROWING SUCH A STUPID WOMAN" Eliza's father shouted "DONT CALL MY MOTHER STUPID SHE WAS A GOOD WOMAN AND I REFUSE TO MARRY THAT BASTARD" "YOU HAVE NO CHOICE I AM GOING TO LOCK YOU IN HERE TILL THE DAY OF THE MARRIAGE IS HERE" "PAPA YOU CAN'T DO THIS I AM YOUR DAUGHTER" Eliza shouted as her voice broke down she banged on the door repeatedly but no answer.
