"G-Get away! Don't touch me!"

She tossed and turn, Tawna's voice ringing in her head over and over again. She quietly whimpered. When was this going to end?

"Just get out of my head!"

She internally screamed at herself. She tightly wrapped her arms around herself as she rocked back and forth in bed. She called out for her mother, the mother whom she had never even met. She called out for her father, the father who was abusive at times but did have a soft side.

Her eyes suddenly sprang open. She sat up as she held her head in agony. Various images began flickering inside of her mind. Was she having another premonition?

She saw a bandicoot who looked all too familiar. He was with what appeared to be a floating mask. Why did that seem familiar as well? She had no clue. After a few minutes of thinking, it finally hit her like a stack of bricks.

Doctor Cortex...what have you done?

The evil scientist was staring at Tawna as she glared daggers into his eyes. What he had just done to her was unforgivable. She wanted to sob right then and there, but she did not want to appear as the weak marsupial that Cortex believed she was.

"I hope you have learned your lesson for talking back to me," he snarled. "I am the one who evolved you. You should be thankful for that."

"Shut up, you bastard!" Tawna snapped. It seemed that she was losing more control of her anger with each passing minute. "After what you've done, you don't deserve to live!"

A mysterious individual dressed in a hooded cloak suddenly appeared and stated, "You should watch your temper, mortal. That anger will get you nowhere. I speak from experience."

"And just who the hell are you?"

"That is not important." The figure turned to Cortex. "You should go and watch the monitor. Something rather interesting is about to be afoot, I believe. I will stay here and...deal with this bandicoot."

Cortex did not say a word as he left the room. Tawna had no idea who this new individual was, but she already had the suspicion that they were bad news.

"Are you working for that...that madman?" Tawna, who was on the verge of tears, asked.

"Not exactly," the figure responded, smirking underneath their hood. "He just thinks I am. Let that pathetic mortal believe what he wants. In time, he will be led to his ultimate demise."

"What are you even talking about?"

"I will not say, or at least not yet. For now, I will leave you with the thought that that boyfriend of yours is about to perish."

"N-No! You're lying! Crash will come for me, and we will leave this place together!"

The hooded figure did not say another word and simply left. As they did so, they thought, Mortals. They're all the same. Anyway, time to go see dear Natalie...

Elsewhere on the island, a teenage girl with semi-long black, curly hair was sitting at a desk on the other side of her designated room, looking through various papers. She stopped and heaved a sigh, wishing she could return home. She was currently at a faraway school known as the Academy of Evil. True to its name, it was an academy where those who wished to become true villains would go. For most students, their parents would force them.
