"Visit either you like: they're both mad."

Mirana raced down the halls, a bright smile on her fair features. Her long white hair flowed behind her, bouncing as she ran. "Racie!" She called, her dark eyes searching for her sister. "Racie!"
Iracebeth appeared as Mirana rounded the corner, going too fast to slow down. She and Iracebeth fell to the ground, both girls groaning and moaning in pain. Iracebeth shoved Mirana off her body, "Mirana, didn't I say no running in the halls? You'll run into someone—mainly me."
Mirana stood up quickly and reached her hand to help the Red Queen stand up. She smiled sheepishly when they both stood, Iracebeth much taller than Mirana. "Sorry, Racie."
"Now, what is it? Alice will be arriving here any second. I was just making my way toward the doors—come along." Iracebeth started toward the door, brushing her deep red hair out of her eyes. Despite being sisters, the two Queens of Underland couldn't look any more different. Mirana had a fair complexion, with wavy white hair to match her bright appearance. Her eyes, though, were as dark as eyes were possible to be. Iracebeth, in comparison, had straight dark red hair and fair skin—though not as pale as Mirana. Iracebeth's eyes were icy blue, almost white. They were opposites in looks, personality, and fashion, but they were the best of friends and sisters.
Mirana followed her older sister to the door as they waited for the doors to open. Mirana opened her mouth to speak—to answer Iracebeth's question—but she hushed her. "Wait until Alice gets here," Iracebeth had said.
They did, and Mirana nervously fiddled with her fingers. She had something important to tell Iracebeth about Alice, but Iracebeth didn't want her to speak. They hadn't seen Alice for at least two years, and when they had, Alice hadn't stayed long. She said something needed to be taken care of at home. However, before she left—Alice had confided in Mirana about what had happened. Mirana had failed to tell Iracebeth about it before Alice arrived, and everything would now come out into the open.
A trumpet sounded outside, causing a grin to spread across Iracebeth's face. Mirana again tried to tell her, but Iracebeth wouldn't listen. From somewhere, a male voice sounded, "Alice Liddell and company have arrived!"
"And company?" Iracebeth repeated, sending a questioning look to her younger sister. "Who might that be?"
"I've been trying to tell you—!" Mirana was interrupted by the doors swinging open with a loud whoosh!
In the doorway stood Alice, two years older than when they'd last seen her but looking nearly the same—all except for the little girl holding her hand, hiding behind Alice's legs. Alice smiled at her old friends, not yet realising that Iracebeth hadn't known about the little girl. "Iracebeth! Mirana! How nice to see you two!"
Iracebeth stared dumb-struck at the small red-haired girl behind Alice. Her mouth was agape, her mind trying to figure out why a child was with Alice. One reason stood out to her—and then she realised that, aside from the red hair, the little girl looked exactly like Alice. Alice walked through the door, encouraging the child to come from behind her to say hello.
She couldn't have been more than three years old, yet she spoke with the utmost politeness, "Hello, Your Highnesses."
"Oh," Mirana smiled, kneeling next to the girl with her arms open for a hug. "Hello. What might your name be?"
The small girl smiled in return and let go of her mother's hand to hug Mirana. "Um," the small child giggled when Mirana picked her up. "I'm Dinah."
"Dinah?" Iracebeth questioned, still staring at the red-haired child. Dinah looked at Iracebeth and seemed entranced by her appearance.
