Backstory:
mei was born into the royal family, her uncle being the emperor of japan. Her uncle never had children, so if something happened to him she would become empress, her birth name was "Masako Ichikawa". She was treated like porcelain most of her life and she began planning her escape with her personal servant/bestfriend named Sekei Kimura. They managed to escape when mei was 13 and sekei was 17, with the help of one of the estate guards. After a few days in the wilderness they were attack by a demon but was saved by Kyojuro Rengoku just in time. He was insistent on sending her back home but she begged him not to send her back, he eventually agreed and he began to train them two. Kyojuro helped her think of the name "Mei Yamaguchi"
