When life is woe,
And hope is dumb,
The world would says, "Go!"
The grave says, "Come!"
-Arthur Guiterman

"Hey! Can't you guys let me go for a moment." I shouted inside the room. Yeah, communicating with someone outside the door was hard. I think I might lost my voice. Feeling tired I crashed into my bed and snuggled my hippopotamus doll. My very lovely hippopo.

"Milady?" I turned my head around and feel delighted to see Miranda, bringing some cookies for me.

"Ohmygod! Velvet cookies!" I steal it from Miranda's hand.

"You know, Miranda. You're the best maid." I grinned sheepishly.

"I-I'm just doing my job, milady." She flushed.

"Hey, do you think you can bring me to town later." I asked her, wiping out the crumbs on my face.

"I don't think I'm allowed to bring you out, milady." She stammered. "I would like to but the queen hardly against it."

"Can't we go without telling her? Please Miranda." I pleaded.

"I'll do something about it." She smiled, pickup the tray and leave.

Miranda's POV

"You need to tell her the truth." I demanded.

"I can't, I can't effort to lost her just like I lost her mother to that scumbag!." She whined. "Don't let her out! This is for her own good." She instructed me. "Please Miranda.. I don't want to lose her." She cried out.

I walked out from the room. 'I need to help her, she can't hide forever. I'm truly sorry'

Marcelino's POV
The door clicked. I turned around and uttered in delight, "Miranda! You came."

"What do you think? Is this disguise good enough?" I asked her, twirling around with my blue dress wrapped with a black and dull cloak.

Miranda nodded with a small smile on her face. Somehow, I don't feel right about breaking Evangeline's rule but at the same time trapped in this mansion suffocates me.

"Let's go now!" I grabbed her hands and heading slowly towards the back door.

"There is a secret door actually." Miranda tapped on my shoulder and pointed behind Evangeline's huge portrait.

She lead the way, she pushed the portrait slowly and pushed a small red button underneath it. And the wall started to create a hole which fit both of us and there were even lights on the side of the walls.

I walked slowly behind Miranda, clutching her dark red cloak, I must admit that I really scared this time. This path was so cold and weird sounds echoed through the path.

"A little bit more to go." Miranda whispered softly and grabbed my hands. "We need to slide now!" She pushed me down the dark slide and I screamed. My heart was about to ripped apart. The smell was so gross and I couldn't see whether Miranda's coming up behind me or not.

"Ouch!" I groaned as I landed on some hard ground.
