As I greeted the world two familiar but not so familiar voices are there waiting for me
Like they expected me, tears and smiles were expressed that day,
October 10
Those two taught my to read and write
Kissed my boo boos when i fell over and got me back up mum was there holding my hand sometimes dad
"Daddy" the first words to leave my mouth that made sense, but why daddy
Mummy was the one there holding my hand and picking me up
Eventually my legs could pick themselves up one after the other
I didn't think mummy's hand was important anymore but she always gave it to me
October 10
We sat around a cake
I'm struggling to blow out the candles but mummy blew them out with me
Daddy was focused on my brother
As more october 10's came around
When my brain could finally see what was going on
I noticed daddy was yelling at brother but why he only spilt a glass of water,
Dad scared me
I noticed that dad yelled at mummy about who did the groceries
Dad ended up winning the yelling
He always did
2 more october 10's later
This was my 3rd year in ballet during my dance, spinning around the room
As i didn't know my worlds split, my families split
1 more october 10 dad was gone
He had moved into a apartment
I still saw daddy but he wasn't angry anymore
Daddy was back
Daddy never yelled at me though
Only mummy and brother
Mummy's arms welcomed me during these tough times
Mummy's arms were there when i had surgery, i screamed and cried and kicked,
Mummy never let go of me, She is my safe space
Mummy's hand was there walking me to school
Mummy's hand was there when I got diabetes
