Mason Plumlee & Brook Lopez: A place in the sun

Chapter Three

*Meeting the Lopez Family*
Los Angeles, California,
8:30am,

Meanwhile at the LAX airport

Brook Lopez takes Mason Plumlee with him to meet with the family as they were surprised by the Lopez family. "Is that Mason Plumlee?" Brook's mother asked. "Ah yes! This is my girlfriend, Mason Alexander Plumlee," "Hi everyone!" Mason waved at the family.

Mrs. Lopez: I'm Deborah, nice to meet you.

Chris: I'm Chris.

Alex: Hi I'm Alex.

Robin Lopez: I'm Robin, it's a pleasure to meet you too Mason.

Mason Plumlee: it's nice to meet you all.

Mrs. Lopez: are you hungry Mason?

Mason Plumlee: a little bit.

Mrs. Lopez: there's a sushi place near downtown LA. Let's go.

Before they headed to the sushi place in Downtown LA, Robin and Alex unloaded the car that had Mason Plumlee's luggage and hand carry to their house and headed out to the restaurant along with the Lopez family. While they were at the restaurant, Mrs. Lopez started talking to Mason Plumlee as the Lopez siblings were still waiting for the order along with the others.

Mrs. Lopez: so tell me about yourself, I heard that you met Brook.

Mason Plumlee: yes I have. Actually, I moved to Brooklyn to get a fresh start since being drafted by the Brooklyn nets after I had a bad breakup.

Mrs. Lopez: I see.

Mason Plumlee: but then out of nowhere I met Brook Lopez, he dropped me off to my apartment, asked me out if I wanted to go out with him and I said yes. He's such a gentleman.

Mrs. Lopez: That's so lovely to hear that you and Brook are having a wonderful time.

Mason Plumlee: thanks.

Mrs. Lopez: anytime, when are you and Brook planning to have a baby?

Mason Plumlee: me and Brook were talking about it before, but I said we decided to slow things down since I'm not ready to have a baby yet.

Mrs. Lopez: it's fine I understand.

Mason Plumlee: yep.

Mrs. Lopez: but you know, you're going to be a great mom someday and that's what I always think about your timing.

Mason Plumlee: You bet I would be a great mom.

Mrs. Lopez: but in one condition, I don't want you to rush for the pregnancy stuff because Alex Lopez got pregnant early.

Mason Plumlee: really?

She nodded.

Mason Plumlee: you know, I try not to make the same mistake like Alex did. Although, I support him because I know I can practice how to handle small children.

Mrs. Lopez: that would be great.

Mr. Lopez: Hey honey, I was wondering if- Deborah hon? Is that-

Mrs. Lopez: Yes honey, this is the person Brook met. You met Mason Plumlee?

Mr. Lopez: No.

Mason Plumlee: Hi Mr. Lopez I'm Mason.

Mr. Lopez: Hi there Mason, I'm Heriberto. Nice to meet you.

Mason Plumlee: Nice to meet you too Heriberto.

Brook Lopez: Hello Papi.

Mr. Lopez: you and I have a lot to talk about Mason, we do some things altogether and one of the twin brothers usually go to Disneyland in their spare time.

Mason Plumlee: oh wow I never heard of that before.

Mr. Lopez: I see. So Brook was talking about taking you there?

Mason Plumlee: yes.

Mr. Lopez: That's good.

Brook Lopez: that's my plan on taking him there, I'm sure he'll love it.

Mr. Lopez: Good.

Mason Plumlee POV:

I met up with the Lopez family and they were so kind. I bet they were so excited because they haven't met me before. However, I did tell them about myself and they were so impressed with what I had in my mind. In fact, I was looking forward to go to Disneyland with Brook Lopez.

After eating out at the restaurant,

They went to the Lopez Residence in Los Angeles where he and Brook were staying in the room. Mason was planning on sleeping in the living room but Brook was telling him that he didn't need to since he can sleep beside him. "You can sleep in the living room if you like," Mrs. Lopez suggested to Mason. "Oh that's okay Ma," Brook said. "Mason can share the room with me," "Are you sure about this Brook? I don't want to hog your space," Mason said blushing. "Not at all Mason, I wouldn't mind sharing my room. Besides, I wanted to sleep beside you," "If that's okay with you, sure!" Brook smiled. "Awesome! You'll be sleeping in my room with me tonight,"

~ The next day ~

The couple went to Disneyland together. Mason and Brook were holding hands as they took the stroll on the most magical place in the world. Well not just the world, Disneyland was all ages and they can roam around like two kids. They were free as birds coming from the nests.

Mason would share the caramel apple with Brook Lopez and they enjoy each other's company just like any couples would do. Although, Brook had other ideas to make him happy. "You know Mason, if I marry you now, you will officially be a Lopez," He said. Mason loved the idea of being the Lopez. If he ties the knot with his teammate, he would be known as Mason Alexander Plumlee-Lopez. Later on, they went on rides together and they have their photos taken. In fact, he was so happy to be with his new boyfriend after dealing with the bad breakup. In the meantime, Brook Lopez made a promise that he will not make the same mistake like Mason's ex-boyfriend did. Well in that case, he would be having a serious talk with him.
