School is boring, and what makes it worse is that home is even more boring. I go through the same motions every day with small alterations. All day every day, I'm struggling to be noticed. The thing is, I am an incredibly unextraordinary person. The only remarkable thing about me is how unremarkable I am.

I trudged down the muddy sidewalk outside of Davis High, eyes firmly on my ratty Converse. My theory is that if you want to get through the day without anything of tremendous magnitude happen, you have to avoid eye contact just enough to fly under the radar. So my eyes were pointed down when I saw something glimmer in the dirt. Intrigued, I crouched down to pick it up. It was a necklace! It had a charm with the letter E on it hanging from a gold chain. I was torn. The right thing to do would be to turn it in to the Lost and Found, but it did have my initial on it...I hooked the clasp around my neck and tucked the charm under my collar. No one would ever have to know.
