why can't I catch a break? || a Cody Carson Fanfiction

a not so normal working day

The three of us were just working like normally changing the positions from time to time like always. One of us is working at the counter the other is packing out boxes and refills things if needed and the third person can just chill until the positions get changed. Right now Ella was at the counter while i was packing out boxes and refilled things while Lilly had her break. while we were working we always had some music playing in the background right now Playing with bad luck was playing and I sung a bit along to it silently.  Then suddenly the Bell over the door rang and I saw a familiar face coming in smiling at me right at the moment he spotted me.

"Hey (Y/N) I didn't knew you are working here." Cody said to me with a smile. "Yeah I didn't told you, but I also didn't expect you to show up here all of a sudden." I said also smiling at him. "Me neither, but we need some new drumsticks Maxx just destroyed his last ones at practice for tonight." He said with a small chuckle rubbing his neck a bit awkwardly.

"Oh it's fine don't worry the drumsticks are over there." I then pointed to the place where the drumsticks are. "If you need help with anything just call out for me." I then added. "I will thanks." Cody said still with a smile as he walked over to the drumsticks.

I then felt myself being pulled aside suddenly. "What the fuck is He doing here (Y/N)?!" Ella asked me  in disbelieve. "He is just searching for some drumsticks Maxx just broke his last pair at the practice today." I answered her calmly. "We should totally not Lilly let find out about this she will just instantly fangirling in our ear if she finds out." She sighs after she said the last thing. "I would like to keep my ears at least until before the concert. She will fangirl there already enough." I agreed with Ella, but what we both didn't expect was, that Maxx and Zach also walked into our shop and Ella and me just looked at each other in disbelieve. "This is seriously not happening right now, right?" I asked Ella and the both of us did not really know what to do.

Maxx smirked at me for a moment before he went over to Cody to see what's taking him so long and I started to blush a bit. Then suddenly Lilly walked out of our storage room and as she saw the three guys she instantly started fangirling and screaming on why set it off was here and why we didn't told her. Zach was laughing a bit at Lilly reaction as Ella and me were both just holding our ears. "Lilly shut the fuck up!" Ella and me said in unison and then I held a hand in front of her mouth so she would finally shut up.

Zach then also walked over to Cody and Maxx. "Dude what's taking you so long just pick some fucking drums-." Zach then saw that Cody wasn't even looking at the drumsticks no he was looking at (Y/N). "Seems like he is daydreaming." Maxx said before he just picked some pairs of drumsticks which had good quality and walked over to Ella at the counter while I was shoving Lilly back in our storage room.

"So how much are these all together?" Maxx asked her with a kind smile on his face. "About 50€" Ella replied with a kind smile on her face too. "Don't you think you could give us a discount of ten percent?" Maxx tried to get the drumsticks a bit cheaper trying to negotiate with her. Then Zach just dragged Cody finally back to the counter and I came back from the storage room.

"How about a eight percent discount then?" Maxx asked still politely. I then walked over to Ella now standing beside her behind the counter just listening on their conversation. "No." She just replied back her Patience getting a bit thinner but she was still smiling. Then Cody leaned a bit on the counter too looking at me with that typical smirk of his which looked also a bit evil and he was looking directly into my eyes. Maxx then got the idea and started to smirk at me a bit to trying to negotiate with me instead of Ella. "How about a six percent discount then?" I started to blush a bit trying to avoid their gazes at me. "No I won't give you guys discount either." Then Cody let out a chuckle and I looked him right back into his eyes. "Can't you two not at least make a five percent discount for us?" Cody asked still only smirking at me. //Goddam why does his smirk has to be that hot and why does he have to look me straight into my eyes while doing that... Cody you are going to be my death one day and Maxx doesn't help here either.// "Fine I give you guys a five percent discount." I then said in defeat still blushing a bit.

"Are you taking cash or with card?" Maxx then asked Ella politely again with an even bigger smile now because they actually got a discount. She only looked at him dead panned. You can read right? There is a sign right in front of you." Ella said still smiling. //Dumbass// "oh yeah sorry." After Maxx said that he was rubbing his neck awkwardly for a moment and then pulled out his card to pay. After he paid then Cody and Maxx were looking at me both smiling at me for a moment. "See you later on the concert then (Y/N)." Cody said to me with a smile before the guys were about to leave. "Oh and (Y/N) don't forget my hoodie later even tho I must say it suits you." Cody said turning his face back to me smirking at me a bit for a short time before he left with the other guys.

I was blushing bright red now and Ella bonked me on the head with her cappy she was wearing for work. "Hey you doin good?" She asked me a bit worried now. "Yeah I'm doing just fine." I replied my blush leaving my face a bit now. "You really couldn't resist his smirk and chuckle couldn't you?" Ella asked teasing me a bit now.

"Oh come on. I'm sorry I gave them a discount alright?!" I said trying to get her away from teasing me. //Actually I'm not but...- she doesn't need to know. I got Cody smirking at me for that.// 

Then after a while Lilly came back again. "Are they gone now?" Lilly asked still a bit overwhelmed by the situation. "Yeah they are gone and well (Y/N) is the reason we made five percent loose." Ella said still not that much of a fan that I gave them a discount. "Why did you gave them five percent discount?" Lilly asked curiously.

"Well Cody first chuckled in this kind of dark attractive chuckle and then he smirked at me with that kind of evil smirk looking directly into my eyes I couldn't resist I"m sorry." I said blushing a bit again.

"I mean I can understand that I would probably not have reacted otherwise." Lilly said to me with a smirk. "Oh come on guys Am I only surrounded by simps?" Ella sighs "I'm not getting enough paid for this. You both please just get back to work." As Ella even said please we looked surprised at her for a moment but only nod our heads.

We then worked the day completely normal until we closed at 4 p.m and then went home to eat something and get changed really quick. I changed but still put Cody's hoodie over my normal clothes again just enjoying his smell after all which seems to calm me down for whatever reason. After we were done with everything we had to do we went to the concert. Waiting in line and everything.
